How do you see IDW's run ending?

IDW is not going to end its main series just for keeping spinoffs going. If IDW ends the main series it's because TMNT is either no longer profitable for them or Nick pulls the license. I don't follow the comic industry but if idw is having money problems and TMNT comic is selling well, that doesn't mean it'll be cancelled when things get worse. Things could be pretty bad right now and TMNT is helping idw stay afloat barely but if they have too much debt, even if TMNT comics are doing better than ever the company would still go belly up and leave it hanging without an ending.

Also Viacom could change their mind on what direction they want the franchise to go in and take the license away without much notice even if it's selling well. I don't know, how did other idw licensed comics end? On a whimper or with time to give an ending? I think most scenarios have it end abruptly. I think best scenario for the comic to get an ending is dwindling sales make them decide to cancel it after X issues so the start wrapping things up.

Sorry cubed, but you might be wrong about that. If the 'spin-offs' sell well, with the sales on the main book declining, they could very well keep them going, and chop the main book.

And by the way, Saturday morning adventures is not a 'spin-off' book, it could be considered a tie-in book, but it's not a spin-off of the IDW main book in any way.

It's not compatible with IDW or Mirage or anything else at all. Maybe you could sort of make it work with the original movie-verse, if you really wanted to, but that's a big stretch and obviously not the intent.

I have no clue at this point, but I see the possibility of things improving greatly just before it is cancelled somehow (possible by IDW going kablooey), as a heel-face-door-slam for the comic run. But for all we know, it’ll slowly fade out of existence.
