Watched the first two episodes. It's OK so far. Nothing mind-blowing or even great, just OK

The problem I have with Star Wars is I'm not a massive fan of the world building. It's good, but next to something like Tolkien's Middle Earth, Robert Jordan's Westlands or even Michael Moorcock's Young Kingdoms, I find a lot the elements boring.

When I first read the novelizations of the Original Trilogy films, I was pretty blown away by how much richer everything was in the book version. Like yeah, it definitely helped having seen the movies so I had a strong visual picture in my head, but man. So much more going on than the movies showed us, at every level of the story. Everything was so fleshed-out and had a lot more weight to it.

It was a neat experience.

That is what I was wondering, CyberCubed.

Did you all hear about the issues between Pedro Pascal and the production staff? Apparently he wanted for scenes without the helmet and was being difficult, leading to him being featured less this season and possibly on his way out? Let me see if i can find a good source, because I'm not even sure it is true.

Either way, I won't cry if they replace him. Either way, they need to do something about all the voice-over. It sounded terrible in season 1 and took me out of nearly every scene. It was flat. If they can get someone in the suit, mic'd up, that'd be much better. or just get a voice actor at this point. Pedro Pascal has no skill as a voice actor and shouldn't be expected to assume the role gracefully.

So episode 1 of season 2 is out now. Haven't watched it yet but I understand...

Spoiler:
... we see the Mandalorian buy Boba Fett's armor AND we see Boba Fett without armor (played by Temuera Morrison) watching him from afar.

This episode gave me some major KOTOR flashbacks with the Krayt Dragon.

I like the show but each episode feels like filler. It feels like I'm watching a videogame sidequest or something. Mando visits a new town, meets an NPC with a problem, has a "quest," where they drive to location, beat giant monster boss, Mando gets armor as a prize.

This whole show is a videogame disguised as a TV show.

Something about the show just feels off to me. It has since the start. I'll need more time, but maybe I just find much of the acting to be weak. Not everyone, but most main cast members.

I'm still tuning in, because I love the sets, the costumes, the universe, etc.. hoping it will improve.

As a KOTOR fanatic, I absolutely loved how they brought the Krayt Dragon mission into the show. And Din handled it almost exactly the way Revan did. Then when they pulled the pearl... I was giddy.

I thought the Krayt design from the show was fine. I enjoyed everything about the episode. If I'm going to nit-pick, I'd say I would have liked to see the Krayt dragon resemble the one from the game more, simply for my own selfish fanboy side.

The second ep was nice visually but pretty much another monster of the week episode with the giant spiders. I like the show visual/action wise but there really isn't much story outside a small handful of eps.

I hope they finally explain Boba/Jango being mandolorian or trained by mandolorian's or whatever. It's ridiculous how mandalorian's became a thing because of how popular Boba Fett was only for him to later be said "oh he wasn't mandolorian, he only stole the armor". This show will finally give Boba Fett a worthy backstory I hope. It's great seeing Temuera Morrison back, he should've gotten some screen time as a clone trooper in Episode III.

So we finally got confirmation in the latest episode that Mando's tribe were a bunch of religious zealots, hence the helmet rule. And seeing Bo Katan in live action was awesome.

I'm guessing either the next episode or episode 5 is when we see Ahsoka.

Pretty much, yeah. And they didn't even have the Mandalorian complete his egg mission in it. It just felt like an unsatisfying episode to me.

Yeah, I've never been super keen about that idea. Though I think he MUST be Mandalorian. Think about it. The idea is that Boba Fett took his dad's ship along with his beskar steel Mandalorian armor (well, most of it anyway) and painted it green, right? Well if he did all of that... why would he paint in and add the Mandalorian flag symbol on the shoulder of it if he wasn't Mandalorian? Jango didn't have any Mandalorian symbols on his armor... Boba would have had to add those himself.

The way I figure it, they can say Jango wasn't a Mandalorian... but Boba was taken in by the Mandalorians (like Dyn was) and raised as a Mandalorian after he lost his dad in Episode II. Given full rites, etc..

And Katee looked great. She looked like 15 years younger than she looked in all of her appearances on Flash.

Sounds like it. I'm getting a little worried they won't really "pull it all together" in time for the season finale. Every week they're, like, adding one more ball to juggle around.
