Talking The New Café

Greetings to the new Forums!

I thought that since its a new beginning, I thought we oughta have a fresh new Cafe!

Not only is it bigger and up-to-date, but now there's more room and couches for Everyone!

*the lights are dimmed. couches stretch out across the room. Along one wall, sits the bar, and adjacent to it is the food section. At another wall is a display of pictures from previous gatherings and happy times. On another walls is a variety of dartboards, ninja star boards and a doorway to shootings ranges. Perfect thing for putting those pictures of that "special someone" on for target practice*

So yeah... if you seem to be having a rough time, whether its work, school, family, whatever... stop on in. We're friendly, and open 24-7. The forums are for an escape from reality. but when you need someone to vent to, this is the perfect place for ya.

I'm your hostess, we have plenty of servers to help you, grab a seat, enjoy the music and have a good time...

*sits on a couch, and starts looking for cheap places to live*

So yeah, after a much bigger then normal fight with my mom over the current living situation, I've been semi kicked out of the house.

For those of you who don't know, I've been working full time to support my mom who has a nurological disease (Firbromyaliga) who's trying to get her nail buisness running. I give her all but, oh, 50 bucks of my paycheck (if I'm lucky), to pay bills. I've been paying for the gas, electric, water, cable, phone, internet, and groceries for about 7 1/2 months now, while she's turned down job after job.

So, if I suddenly disappear from the boards, that's why. I'm going to start saving as much as I can, to hopefuly get myself a cheap cheap computer (dell has some real low end models i could pry afford, but that'd be down the road a bit).

I'll try to keep you all updated. Any budget advice?

Hey my mother has that too... she is suffering from Advanced Stages of it, as well as a few other health problems, and I'm taking care of her too

See, what pisses me off is she can still function. There's no reason she can't go work a desk job, or even telemarketing. It woulden't bother me so much if I wasn't trying to save up for school, and if it looked like she was putting some effort in to getting out of the hole we're in, ya know?

Fuc*ing hell man. I thought I had problems. You really need to get away from that crap. It sounds like it's just going to get worse.

I'm jealous, too. I need a roomate. I'd LOVE to get my own place. But my only friend who'd go for it is perfectly content just living with her parent, not paying for ANYthing. I love my parents, yes... But I wanna get my own place.

Well, my grandfather's in the emergency room again right now. Second time TODAY. *sigh* I hope he comes home tonight...

My guy's off on a trip for work... So I'm all alone right now.

I always feel like a baby when someone I know moves out, some of them even younger than me. It's just that I can't afford it and even if I could... it's so comfortable at home!
But I'll move out before I hit 25! Promise.

Jo - I hope he gets better. My grandpa was having some problems with his pace maker a couple months back, and he had shingels, or what ever it's called. It sucks when you don't know if they're gonna be okay though.

Barkworm - Dude... if I can afford it on fast food pay, I'm sure you can swing it somehow. Then again, if you don't have to pay for anything at home, more power to ya .

TMB - It should be fun. I'll getta play more games at least. Not sure about the LAN (really, what'd be the point?) but it's nice to know there's always that option.

I hope he's okay, too. He had shingles earlier this yar, too. He's still in the hospital. He's had a nosebleed all day, and because of his blood thinners, they can't stop it.

Barkworm - I know how you feel. All these younger kids moving out, and here I am, 25, and still at home. I work TWO jobs, almost every day of the week and I STILL can't afford it. *kicks rock*

Hey, just so you know, I'm 26, turning 27 this year on August 27 and I still live at home, too! Both my sister and I do, and she'll be 29 November 6! It's too damn expensive to live in CA, especially with the salaries we make. Our mom pulls in the bulk of the money and we tie up the lose ends. I'm very sad to hear about your grandfather, Jo, and hope he gets a speedy recovery. Hospitals are no fun to be in, this I know for a fact!

The latest bummer news came from other families that I know of. One manager at my work lost her brother in a terrible motorcycle accident on December 18. He was recuperating from a previous accident and couldn't ride on city streets. He could, however, ride on dirt roads. He never saw the barb wire stretched across the way and ran into it...um...more like it decapitated him! I felt so bad for her, I decided to give $20 as a donation for the funeral costs.

On top of that, I came home from work this evening to hear even more bad news from my sister's old high school bud, Toni. This poor girl has had it rough with losing friends, including her boyfriend Mike who died in a major car accident with four other friends. Tonight, however, was just so terrible, I still can't believe it. A friend of hers named Chris had just turned 24 the day after Christmas. Last night, or January 1st, he was working late at his job and went to go throw out the trash in the back alley. No biggie, right? When he got outside, he saw a man trying to dispose of a body he had just killed! The guy caught sight of Chris and shot him, killing him instantly! Then, get this. The guy takes off in his car and goes through a drive-thru to get something to eat. While at the drive-thru, he's so guilty for killing two people in one night, he shoots himself in the car! My sister is in tears relaying this story and I'm standing there, still in uniform, with this horrific expression on my face. Toni isn't just her friend, she's mine, too, in fact I talk to her a lot in AIM with all my real life problems. She's a very spiritual person full of many words of wisdom, ones that council me in my deepest of depressions. However, after losing yet another friend, she told my sister she may need to start talking to someone professionally!

Right now, I've been getting torn up inside over other things, but after hearing that incident, I can't do much but sit here and just stare in shock. It really makes you realize how life is so precious, and how easy it can be taken away.

Thanks so much all. It's awful having to hear news from others and I'm just so upset for them, yet there's nothing that can be done! The next time I AIM chat with Toni, I'll give her a big Internet huggy, because that's all I can do on this end.

Just went to the hospital for some testing. I was recently diagnosed with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). In other words, my lower stomach area hurts out of nowhere for almost no reason at all. They did an endoscopy and an colinoscopy. Basically, they shove a camera down your throat and up your ass, to check for abnormalities. The procedure went well, and I didn't even know I had the procedure, due to the anesthetic. I woke up all woozy and disoriented. It was sweet. Thankfully, it looks like nothing was wrong with me. I just have the typical IBS, and I'll carry it with me for the rest of my life. Oh well. There's people who have worse out there, and I'm thankful mine isn't that serious.

My aunt, who's a nurse, has IBS as well, and so does my cousin's ex-wife. It's nothing serious, you just have to be very careful with what you eat. I've been known to eat whatever sounds good and pay the price later on. I don't think I have IBS, but then again, I've never been examined that way. Take it easy there, k?

Hey, real quick, my sister talked to Toni and found out she was a bit wrong with how Chris died. In fact, it's much worse. Here's what happened: "Chris was behind the counter..the gunman came in the store..shot him..left..shot a bum while digging through the trash (he lived), went to a random house, tried to break in..shot the resident (who lived). went BACK to the store..shot Chris again, this time in the face! Left, called police..turned himself in..when the cops got there he baracaded himself in the car..shot himself..and was considered "death imminent" status..I say worse because I know where he got shot and that is not the way that Chris deserved to go out.." The newspapers read, "Murder at Porn Shop" which pissed off Toni! She wants to write a letter to the editor and say how politically incorrect the title is and how insensitive it is to the family and gives readers a negative impression on a TRAGEDY.
