That was one of my biggest issues with the first one, especially the ending when they popped the cork on the entire Marvel Family. I dug that, but I was like, "Well, they better start shooting the sequel like, Tomorrow, or else all of these kid actors are gonna be too old to come back."
Such is always the risk when doing any movie with a lot of young actors in the cast. I think part of the delay was in part because, for all the glowing reviews and "Finally! A FUN DC movie!" stuff, it didn't actually make much money. Like, let's be honest, $366 million is pitiful for a super-hero movie. They "only" spent $100 million on it, so technically they came out ahead, barely, but still... you know that WB wanted/expected a LOT better returns considering how strongly they positioned it as DC's "Marvel Movie", all light and "fun" and family-friendly and whatnot. After marketing costs, they maybe only broke even, possibly. So one would think that if it made more money, the sequel might have come out sooner, but instead they had to go back to the drawing board for "retooling", to try and figure out just what they did "wrong". Then again, Aquaman made a billion dollars and they dragged their feet on THAT sequel, too. So maybe WB is just run by drunken chimps who don't know what the f*ck they're doing.  THAT, I can absolutely believe.

WB, on a good day, could f*ck up a wet dream. Their only consistent trait is failure. Even when they "win", they pooch the follow-through. I'm a huge fan of a lot of the properties they own, but as a COMPANY? Oof. Drizzling sh*ts.

I respect what FW cartoon did for the turtles franchise but it is the most overrated and hard to watch of the 3 turtles cartoons. |
