Jinx Monsoon is looking like a Batman '66 Villian. I'm not feeling confident with about this, hopefully it'll be good. I was hoping she'd be playing Judy Garland.

I like the look of the afro on the Doctor. Curious to see how they handle genuine sixties racial attitudes. I won't be surprised if its hand waved away with a "perception filter".

Doctor Who was always a progressive programme, if you watch it knowing what you do now, this was the case even back in the classic era

Russel was also always a woke writer and his prior work on Doctor Who did a lot to push the show in that direction, but he managed to get away with it at the time because he usually prioritised the story over the message. Time will tell if he does the same now or is allowed to cut looser than he did in the 2000s when things were different.

A lot of what he's written since I've really enjoyed like It's A Sin and Years and Years, and they are very, very woke.
