Yesterday, I watched the 1979 science fiction film The Black Hole. It was pretty good and I kinda remember it from when I was younger and it was good to watch it again.

Later, I watched Forbidden Planet and I liked it. The special effects were cool and I didn't really have any problems with the movie.

This film is so cheesy and terrible it's great. My friends and I had a lot of laughs making jokes during it.

Whenever I watch that movie, I seem to enjoy it. There's something about it that makes me wanna watch it every once in a while.

I watched Epic Movie on HBO today with some freinds, it would have sucked but we MST3K'ed it, so it wasn't all bad.

Watched the French film Les Diaboliques last night and it was good. I liked how the suspense built up and it kinda reminded me of Hitchcock's stuff.

Started The Goonies last night and finished it today and it was a lot of fun.

It's a very good film. Saw it ages ago at university. Did you know that Hitchcock was actually annoyed he didn't get the rights to the original novel? But he went on to make Vertigo instead, which was based off another book by the same authors. Similarities can definitely be drawn between them.

It's a pretty sad state of affairs when you have to MST3K what's supposed to be a comedy.

One of my all time favorite movies to MST3K was Ultraviolet. But I after a half hour I gave up.

No, I did not know that, but it sure is interesting. Speaking of Vertigo, I'll be watching it later this month, so I guess there's kind of a connection there.

The remake, I think Steven Spielberg did a great job on it. It has some really suspenseful scenes and while I'm not a fan of Tom Cruise he did a good job in it.

There was awhile there where he made a few good movies in a row Minority Report, The Last Samurai, Collateral, and lastly War Of The Worlds. Then I don't know what happened to him.

Yeah, it was cool. I think Mission Impossible 3 was pretty alright, too. He beat a guy up with his elbows!

I never saw it, after 2 I decided I had given up on the series. It upsets me to cause 2 was directed by John Woo and he's awesome.

Saw The Game Plan for the first time tonight with my sister's kids. I thought it'd be a reasonably decent film, and I might even find it somewhat amusing. Boy, was I ever wrong...

The first thing I noticed was the bad acting. I know better than to expect much from someone who used to be a pro wrestler, but the way the little girl's lines all sounded like she was reading them off cue cards for the first time bugged me. However, I didn't hold that against her. She's from The Disney Channel, the mecca of the world's cheesiest actors (they even snagged Bruce Campbell).

The next thing that grated at me was the quarterback telling his daughter to "never say 'no'". Now, I don't intend to tell people how to raise their kids, but that's some lousy wording for a 'never give up' sentiment, and the last thing you should tell a daughter. I can just imagine some yesman director giving Dwayne a line like "never say never", he goofs it up, then the director commends him for the shameful, almost perverted joke he stumbled upon. Anyway, I counted this as strike one.

Then, I was again irritated by the suggestion that ballet is a sport. For a brief second, I thought they might blow it off, as if to say "no one said it was". Then, the ballet teacher gets all indignant with her "yah-huh, ballet is so a sport!" Let me explain something... What makes a sport a sport is competition. The only part of ballet that features competition is the auditions. Therefore, it is simply a performing art. So, they're suggesting to kids that the definition of a word is unimportant and can be changed on a whim to be the punchline of a lame joke... Strike two. And, when I muttered that ballet isn't a sport, my neice told me "if it's [shown] on TV, it's a sport". O_O I blame that one on her watching too much Disney.

The straw that broke the camel's back was the overall message. "Be an annoying brat, screw up people's lives, and get rewarded for it." Disney uses this one way too much as of late. I'm sick of them poisoning young, impressionable minds with this absurd idea. If/when I ever have kids, I'm banning The Disney Channel. So, strike three. This movie's officially on my ****-list.

In summary, I'll never get that three hours of my life back... What's that you say? It wasn't that long?? Well, it sure felt like it. >_<

Last night, I watched Frankenstein Meets the Space Monster and the only problem I had with it was I felt the ending was kinda rushed, but other than that, I liked it. It was interesting to see James Karen in one of his pre-Return of the Living Dead roles.

Later, I watched the Asian horror film Onibaba. It was a breath of fresh air and I liked everything about it.
