Mike Tyson punches a guy who harassed him on an airplane

Apparently the guy threw a water bottle at him even.

Mike Tyson hasn't been the best human being throughout his life, but it does seem like he was just minding his own business until the other guy decided to pester him. Honestly, what do you expect from messing with Mike Tyson of all people?

This is the guy who'd toss rocks at a hornet nest and then blame the hornets when he's attacked.

It's honestly impressive how famous Mike Tyson was and still is nowadays. Even people like me who don't watch boxing have always known who he was. Same goes for Muhammad Ali.

But boxing seems to not be that much popular anymore. I can't name a single modern day boxer. Feels like MMA has become the more popular combat sport in the last decade.

Who were the last boxing household names? Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao? And I'm not sure their fame has ever matched Tyson's. Haven't heard about them in years.

I can't name a single modern day boxer. Who's even the best the boxer in the world nowadays?

The thing you have to remember about Mike Tyson is that even at his age he’s big, tough, and wicked fast for a man his size. Can he bounce back as quickly as he could when he was in his 20’s? Probably not. But this man is more of a mutant than the Turtles. His only real threat was himself when he got cocky before his fight with Buster Douglass.

Jake Paul may be younger, have a height and reach advantage, but Tyson has decades of experience.

I’m hoping to see Tyson play with Paul for a while and then lay him out flat on his ass.

And then see Jake’s brother, Logan, pull a pro wrestling move and jump into the ring only to get laid out as well.

Honestly the only UFC/MMA people I know or heard of are ones that made it big elsewhere. Rousey, Lesnar, Shafir, McGregor, I guess Punk when he tried twice?

I knew I forgot someone. Yeah, her too.

But I have 0 idea who's supposed to be the big-name UFC/MMA person nowadays.

It's because we've largely lost who we used to think of as the big heavyweights. There just isn't anybody anymore. Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao were the last ones people gave a crap about, and those are just little guys... not as impressive to watch as the big giants of yore.

The problem with MMA is those guys burn out so fast. By the time you get a semi-"name," they get banged up and retire.

I think it’s because Joe Rogan and Dana White are the bigger “personalities” these days than the fighters.

If they follow the script then Paul wins in late rounds.
If Tyson sociopaths up, then Tyson wins by round 2.

I don't even know who Shafir is. McGregor I only know because people were spamming him all over social media some years ago. Where did he make it big outside of UFC, though?

I also know Royce Gracie, somehow. He was one of the first big UFC names or something.

Yes the last 2 boxers I remember hearing about were Mayweather and Pacquiao, indeed. I recall Mayweather being undefeated for a while, even.

Why do they burn out so fast, though? Don't they only fight a few times a year and isn't MMA overall safer than boxing? So, shouldn't MMA fighters in theory have longer careers and peaks than boxers?

Tyson v Paul was the main title card! What the hell am I paying for, Netflix? I can watch rerun combat sports for free on Roku.
