So Eric July, a known Youtuber that covers comics and how the wokeness affected the overall industry has been talking about making his own comics for years and has finally done it.

Buying his own warehouse, creating his own website, basically doing everything so that he is the owner of the whole shebang and doesn't have to answer to anyone but himself.

The first comic of his new universe, Isom # 1 was launched Monday and has already went over a million in orders. Unlike something from Indiegogo or Kickstarter, the book is complete, it's just a matter of printing and shipping enough copies as the orders come in.

So far from what we know, Isom is about a guy that became superhero for a while, but an incident made him see that isn't the life for him, so he moved on to live a peaceful farm life. When his sister calls him up to find a missing family member, he's about to see himself dragged back into the life again.

He's been doing a good job keeping spoilers out to the point we don't know his powers yet, but the art and all the characters so far look top notch.


A big part of this is also just making a fun action packed comic that doesn't include modern day politics. A comic book about a black man made by a black man but the entire premise isn't just 'look how black I am'. So far the left has been flipping out over his success calling him everything from a scam to flat out the n-word despite being 'the tolerant left'. Reddit is even banning people that talk about it. The jealous and envy is insane.

I plan to purchase a copy this weekend. I'll be reviewing it as soon as I get it, but this is gonna be a 96 page monster, so that's gonna take a while.

Now that I see just how much backlash this book is getting just because it's not following the 'woke narrative', I probably will only review this over on Odysee. I don't want woke weirdos messing with me on my channel. My channel has always been solely about entertainment and even when something gets political (example, the Joker movie), I always leave the politics out of it and just review the movie or whatever based on the actual material.

But now you got Reddit banning people over mentioning the book, one of the actual artists showing the sketch process he used on the main character is banned, I don't want that crazy **** on my doorstep.

Apparently, Rippa's pre-orders beat Keanu Reeve's comic campaign BRZRKR from last year... and that one had Keanu ****in' Reevese backing it.

It's pretty amazing. And again, this isn't a crowdfunding campaign where you chip in and hope they meet the goal and then wait for them to start making the books and get em months down the line. The books are done and they ship in August, this isn't crowd-funding, this is actually pre-ordering the book.

On other news, I did buy the first issue of Goshawk and Falconette, made by X52 Studios, the same people behind Arachna (which I also bought number 2 of). Now those are Indiegogo campaigns but they have always met their goals within 24 hours of announcing it due to a lot of advertising and updates beforehand.


To be perfectly honest, between picking up late 80's/early 90's Batman, comics like Tomb Raider, Danger Girl, Gen 13, The Magdalena and these indie crowfunded comics like Arachna, Goshawk, O-Girl and now the Rippaverse..... I honestly don't need modern day Marvel and DC anymore.

Hell, even if I buy the new Armageddon Game stuff from IDW, it's still IDW, not the 'big two'.

Just bought my copy. Went for Cover B cause, hey, Yaira's on it. Kinda sounds like if she makes a big enough splash she might get her own series.



Rippa's been communicating a lot with the fanbase. The shirts he's selling of the characters come in 2 variants (either the main character, or the whole crew) but they come in grey. Fans have been demanding they make shirts also come in black, as well as possibly caps. He might be adding in black shirts and caps as the campaign continues. In that case, I might double dip and get me some of those too.

Dude just hit 2.5 Million. While it's slowing down, the number keeps rising. The incentive of different covers and the idea of 'buy one to read and buy one to keep sealed' is also making people buy more than one copy as well as the merch.

Not sure if you mean that in a good way or a bad way. It seems nowadays any indie comic is slapped with that label and people tied to Marvel and DC tend to use that to anyone they don't like or anyone that creates comics that don't follow 'the narrative'.

Despite trying to use that label as a 'right-wing' thing (oh noes!!!!) The only comic I seen from 'that side' was a blatant political parody was Wallmight My Hero MAGAdemia where Allmight/Trump fought against supervillain versions of Hillary and Bernie.

I like Eric. Do I agree with everything he says? No. But you’ve gotta admit, he’s got a lot more common sense than all of the weirdos at DC and Marvel combined. I hope that he becomes tremendously successful in the comic book business, and it seems that he already is.

Right now his biggest adversary is the white liberal. How ironic.

Not just the white liberals, black liberals too. This chump that makes Godhood Comics that prides himself in making almost everyone black and virtue signals about blackity black black and whatnot, is salty that Eric is being more successful for him, while using a black character where the entire story and premise isn't about him being black.

Up to 3 Mil and counting. I'll be buying a second book and a shirt come payday. Cover C seems to be the basic cover you can get even after the campaign ended, Covers A and B are like 'once they're gone, they're gone', so I'll leave my Cover B one sealed. But I do want at least one of the shirts.

The haters are now resorting to saying he's getting funding elsewhere because they can't face the fact that there are that many people interested in his product.

Despite that however, he is still shipping the books out regardless mid-August. So when it comes to the customer, this won't affect them.

As you'd expect though, the haters are trying to use this as 'proof' that he's trying to run with the money despite him being transparent about it and offering to still ship the books out regardless.
