Fans' opinion of a new reboot
Do you think there is anyway we can reach out to Viacom/Nickelodeon about a proper reboot of the TMNT movie franchise? Like a mirage style movie like the first one. I feel that we are in an age where fans are more vocal and have a say on what we would like.

There's no financial incentive for the studio to make a movie to cater to a small, and shrinking, niche market. Especially one with an effects-laden premise like TMNT.
Best we can hope for is a fan film of some sort.

No because I don't think Nick has any say in the movie since Platinum Dunes is the one doing it. As The Boston Ninja Turtle said, the best way to be vocal about it is to not buy the DVD and to not see the sequel.

Do they understand what a proper reboot is though. The Nick show has done pretty well, at least in terms of the kind of version it's aiming to be, so not everyone with Nick is clueless, but with a movie... I dunno, somehow I have a feeling a lot of their role has been to just sign off on things and give their ok while letting film makers do whatever they please as long as it doesn't seem incredibly absurd (like aliens). With a big name like Bay in there they prob just let him and the rest of his team do what ever.
IMO fan power is prob more effectively aimed at pushing for better with the sequel. To keep that slight sting from criticism of the first still present enough they may be a bit more mindful this time. Even those who are in love with the first film still could help the next by acknowledging their own negative points alongside the positive. |

The 2014 TMNT movie is officially the most successful movie of 2014 combination of theater, dvd, and digital sales. There is zero chance they blow it up and start over.

Um....Ok....Where'd this come from? Guardians did 2x as much as TMNT. Heck, theatrically speaking, TMNT is #13 in box-office receipts for 2014. It'd have to trounce several films claim that spot. Heck, online estimates for Frozen at $161,380,104 in DVD sales and another $146,646,441 in Blu Rays for a total of $308,026,545. I'm sure that flick is killing home video sales.

No reboot for another 20 years. Or 24 years to be precise. Anyway, most peopl love it judging from the sales.
We're doing fine as is now, loads of enhancement and improvements can be made in the sequel for sure. Maybe introducing new technology technique. It's not surprisng how sequels can be better than the orignal i.e. like Terminator 2, Toy Story 2, etc. |

As a fan of the new movie and excited for the sequel, I don't want a new reboot.
