I hope they base it on the original book series rather than try to remake Bluth's film (which was awesome but took a ton of liberties with the plot and the characterization).

Oh wow! I hope this gets made, NIMH was one of my two favorite animated movies growing up, and has influenced my own writing more than once. Never read the books, sadly, but I may have to remedy that soon, just as a comparison to the film(s). Still haven't seen the one with Timothy in Thorn Valley yet, either, so I guess I have some movie watching to do.

That movie used to give me wicked nightmares as a kid. Worse than the Freddys or Jasons ever did.

The Bluth Studio were masters of pivoting from adorably cute to "scar you for life terrifying" on a dime! John Pomeroy still does sketch character commissions for folks on his social media accounts, for surprisingly affordable rates!

When this article says "FOX", does it mean 20th Century that is currently part of Disney, or does it mean the largely unrelated new company that was created because Murdoch still has the trademark?

I would be more interested if it is Murdoch's Fox.
