Rise Official Episode Discussion S2 EP3 - Flushed but Never Forgotten; Lair Games

Wow i'm confused.

Ok so apparently this season 2 episode aired last night not Man vs. Sewer; The Mutant Menace.

Flushed but Never Forgotten
The Turtles have a secret that comes back to haunt them.

Lair Games
April presents her award winning documentary about the Turtles annual event: The Lair Olympics.

This is Episode 3 not 1.

Yeah, I knew it was to be those, but given corrections even made to the local cable listings (that moved those other eps fully to next weekend -- as I tried to note in other threads)... it's all just gotten confused.

I'm questioning if these are even Season 2 episodes or it's just more mistakes in the scheduling info. Doesn't really make any sense. Unless they want the second season to buckle down and be more serious so they're tossing some one-off nonsense out there now to get it out of the way? But season 1 isn't over, so...

Anyhow... Wasn't impressed with these both basically being Leo-centric episodes that highlight his crappy personality in this go-around, but I did like the little twist endings of both. The end of Lair Games was kind of predictable.

And Mikey? Mikey who? Also sort of highlights that he falls into the background a bit much in this series.

Poor pet fishy. I mean, even if it was an accident, it was an incredibly idiotic one, and idiotic and unnecessary choices that led to her ending up flushed in the first place, so they actually kind of deserved her, as a mutant, coming after them. Even if it was just a prank. That unfortunately then downplayed the lesson about their stupid behavior.

edit: Note that if these are somehow season 2 eps, Lair Games still points Raph out as "the leader."

This ep description is also pretty bad as her presence in this is pretty vague and minimal. It's way less about her than it is about the Turtles and their competing.

I wondered they decided to air this episode because Flushed but not forgotten was a bit of a Halloween episode.

I didn't mind both episodes, I preferred the 1st episode to the 2nd episode. I liked that they parodied, I know what you did last summer movie and had reference to the Ring. They also had a Casey Jones reference
Lair games sort of reminded me of that Donnie vs Raph short a couple of years ago. I like that we got to see baby Donnie and Mikey.

I was a bit worried watching these episodes because of spoilers because we still got to finish watching season 1. I think the only spoiler was the changes to the intro.

Figures, I got up to close a door and didn't pay any attention to the intro. lol

Forgot about the Ring and Casey references, those were cool. Might be right about them just trying to put a "scary" one in for October. (Someday though I've love to see the TMNT get a genuine Halloween themed ep., rather than just scary ones or only just barely hinting at the holiday.)

Why are they starting season 2 before finishing season 1? Talk about a mess!

likely because the season 1 finale is being saved for a day where they can make it more eventful?

I mean, judging from what we've got, it's not a show with enough plot for the showing order to matter much.

I'm suprised the TV censors let her get away calling them turds.

Regular Show used that word in at least one episode. And that was TV-PG.

Also Star Vs which was TV-Y7

I don't know much about Mirage but did anyone else get flashbacks to Primal when Raph became savage

Yeah, I mentioned that in the discussion thread. Really cool homage.

I'm kinda confused about the production code on this one. This forum and TMNTPedia have it listed as #201 but Futon Critic have it listed as #203. Which one is accurate?

I know this is late but I just saw this comment. What was the Casey Jones reference?

Like 2 min into the episode where the turtles dressed Piebald as a goalie
