So I got the one that I cancelled online but they shipped anyways......my suggestion....do not have them shipped! Box was beat to poop and opened on both ends. All corners were squished in. If you can, pick it up at a store!!

Am I the only one having trouble with their new screw instal system?

half the screws won't stay in place. and then I noticed the monitor wasn't evenening out properly, took it apart, and even LESS screws stayed in place trying to put it back together.

ugh. I may have to try and drill my own holes at this point because this screw locking system sucks

Cnet did a video where they unboxed it. Built it and play it with 4 people.

Someone should tell CNET to take the dang disposable protective plastic sheets off of the controls protector.

It must be only me then. I had to drill 4 new holes on the side and use wood screws, because the damn screw lock system didn't want to catch.

at least, against all odds, I got it together without breaking something. and it's relatively stable.

the only other thing I can't figure out is where the plastic on the monitor is. I keep poking around with my fingernail to peel it off but I can't find it around t he edges.

I don't want to finish it up until i do that.

Well, it didn't go together as easily as pac-man did, and I had to drill newcustom holes for wood screws instead of the ones they gave me.

but against all odds, got it together without breaking something.

Basement was finally finished on Saturday and the arcade machine was built today and I did a run though of TMNT TiT. Great fun and nostalgia.

MACHINE DEMO

A few notes for buyers.

1- The plastic film that you have to remove from the monitor? Do it before you put it in the machine-trust me here. That thing is impossible to remove. Be careful for the rest of assembly. Same is true for the deck protector, but thats not a pain to take apart.

2- My Raph jump button is broke. I took a look under the hood of the deck, which I prob shouldnt have, but there is nothing obvious wrong. I wont play with wires on this thing, even though I am tech savy. I contacted Arcade 1UP, so I will let you know what support is like.

Seriously listen here.

The instructions are okay but honestly there's some things I would add to it. Learn from my mistakes. I had to rebuild a new one due to a scratched screen I didn't discover till I removed the protective film. I know right?

Okay first off:

The parts bag, there's a bag in there marked "riser". Don't open it! Leave it last. The reason why is because small parts are labeled some of the same letters from the main build and they are different in size. Don't mix that **** up.

When you get to the monitor screen step, before you put it in position when that step comes up. Take the appropriate screwdriver and loosen the four corner screws. Loosen. After that peel at the protective film and get it off only the borders and off the screws. Leave it on the main screen. I tell you this because a step way later tells you to remove the film finally and it's a pain in the ass with all the later parts of the build in the way. You can't even get to the top screws. Trust me.

That's about it. Except the one obvious make sure you remove both sides of the joystick pad protective film. Seen slot of YouTube vids that didn't and it looks cloudy. It has two films to peel.

If I think of more I'll let you know. Good luck.

Exactly what this guy said about that screen film...thats sh*t is ON THERE!

Haha yeah. I was so shell shocked when I got to that step in the first build. All the more reason I wanted others to learn from my trial and error. The second build was a piece of cake, took about 4 episodes of tmnt running in background.

Just waiting on my light marquee from the Arcade Factory to show up tomorrow till I share some photos.

I was able to order one of these on the way home from NYCC, and it arrived safely via FedEx a few days later with a fully intact box. I just assembled it today and it is great! Thanks for the tip to peel the protective film from the screen before assembly, that was a huge help

I'm on the fence about the light-up marquee...I really don't want to put in any more money but I love that Konami logo! Maybe if I get the Marvel or SW one then I will to match.

Any news on the TMNT stool pictures at E3? I want it just to have a TMNT stool!

Installed my light this morning after work. It was a little work but I expected that once I realized it came with no directions. You do have to remove the speakers on old setup to move to new marquee/speaker board. They provide two screws that will replace the top two front screws in the side panel on each side. Just gotta get into position, it makes sense once you see it in front of you. Though I be happy to take photos of the positioning of the back if requested. Plug adapters into top hole of arcade guts box, good to go.
