This looks super fun. Don't go into it attempting to relate to or even like these characters. That's probably not the point. Or if it is, they'll prob win you over, cause Gunn is pretty good at this stuff.

I'm not sure about this movie, but such a large cast does seem to line up with this being the DC equivalent of "Dirty Dozen."

And I am totally down for seeing 9 or 10 of these guys bite the dust. A REAL Suicide Squad.

With a group of losers like THAT I'd be amazed if anyone BUT Harley made it to the closing credits, frankly. I mean, we know she's not gonna kick off because she has 80 more movies coming out. But f*cking Polka-Dot man? Good grief!

And again, can't wait to hear why we have a Mongal when neither Mongul or WarWorld have ever even been whispered of in this continuity whatsoever. I'm sure it'll be a completely satisfying explanation that makes a ton of logical sense, and will in NO way be anything like "We needed another chick, just pulled a name out of a hat". No WAY that THAT'S what happened, there.

Like, why not more Katana? We could have used WAY more Katana than what we had, and she's established. I would've been all over that. Eh.

We'll see. I kinda think it looks like piss but I like the idea of the Squad and I like that they're willing to give them another chance at a movie. Just not seeing much to get excited about.

Normally the aesthetic and tone would potentially turn me off. And I don't actually care for the Guardians films all that much, though I recognize their quality.

But what excites me about this film has everything to do with the production. The fact that James Gunn took the job while everyone was *gunning* for him (it has begun) indicates he was able to maintain a ton of creative control. They're letting him go R, he seems excited, the characters and actors are expendable.
It's just got the right kind of quality ingredients you want in a product of this magnitude. It's a clear labor of love and creativity.

I'm not excited for much about this film either, though I am really interested in seeing Capaldi and Elba in it. I love both of those actors.

And I'm also excited to see most of these losers die a horrible death. I mean, it's supposed to be a SUICIDE SQUAD. (Apparently, nobody told David Ayer.)

And yeah, Harley survives, Waller survives, and maybe Idris Elba and/or Rick Flag. Maybe King Shark?

Oh, yeah, I almost forgot, I actually popped for Bloodsport. Deep cuts!

One would hope that he survives, just because we haven't seen him fight Superman yet and that's his whole entire gimmick. Of course, we've seen how much THAT kinda thing matters in these movies... like when Black Mask and Zsasz get killed off in their first appearances by a bunch of characters they generally never interact with at all.

But yeah, Bloodsport got a reaction out of me. Which was then replaced by a reaction of "UGH!" that inevitably follows whenever I see John f*cking Cena's face.

But yeah they had me for like, a second.

I wonder who'll be the one that dies in the beginning. I'm sure it happened in the comic, but the animated movies and the first movie did the thing where after everything is explained, including the bomb in their neck, one of them is still like 'hell naw, I'm outta here' and gets their head blown off to prove a point. Wonder who it will be for this one.

Huh... Not sure what to make of it, but I'll watch. I loved the first one, but Birds of Prey was ridiculously bad, so it's a 50/50 kinda thing. Some very interesting casting choices there, half amazing, half head-scratchy. Same for the character designs, really. Gunn's done a great job with GOTG, I'm intrigued.

Note that I am not a DC guy & don't read these comics & know nothing of the characters. It'll just be a movie to me, same as the others.

I just hope they kinda, explain stuff. Like did the first movie still happen, did Birds of Prey still happen, even though I think that one acts like SS did happen. IDK, woulda been less confusing if they left out Harley or re-cast her, which I know they would never do since she's too popular, but casting her here and technically saying this is a different Harley is like if they casted Leto in Joker and insisted it wasn't the same one from SS.
