I feel old...

Every year I re-watch the series from start to finish. Part of a tradition that started in school.

I'm up to the dregg episodes....and it just hit me. I was thinking how good these shows should look on DVD since their not that old, and then I got into doing some addition. 1995-2009 is 14 years....

I STILL remember being pissed at the premier of 'New Mutations', episode 4 of 1995 season. The Pope was in NY and they pre-empted the show for that. Ugh. I'm just lucky that CBS re-ran it, which at that point in time, they often didn't.

I can't believe its been 13 years since the original cartoon ended. I still remember waking up saturday mornings and watching CBS to see new TMNT episodes.

Hopefully the rest of the show gets out on DVD soon, its almost like I re-live my childhood everytime I watch through those old episodes again.

Same with the original 3 movies, and to a lesser extent the Archie series since I had that as a kid.

I wonder how I'll feel about the 2k3 series a number of years from now, and if I'll get nostalgia from that too once it becomes fairly old. I didn't get into the Mirage comics until I was a teen, so that's more recent for me as well.

lots of things are weirding me out about my age these days... I'm 27, my friends are having babies everywhere, and while I think I'll make a good father someday...today is not that day.

The thing that really threw me for a loop the other day was the realization that my nephew is about to turn 13. I held that kid in my arms the day he was born...WEEEEEEEEEIRD!

1980's

Here http://www.inthe80s.com/feelold.shtml is a list of reasons for children of the 1980's to feel old. It looks like it started in 1995.

Ugh... I'm gonna be 26 in June, and my neices and nephew are 19, 18 and 17...

I figure the way things will be is me and my brother still living at home with the parents, taking care of each other into old age. The possibility of finding that someone and doing the baby-making seems very minute at this point in life...

Teenagers born in 1996

We now have teenagers born in 1996, the same year that the 1987 TMNT cartoon ended.

Hey all you youngsters startin' to feel old. Welcome to my world!! I was 25years old when the TMNT toys were released in '88. Go ahead do the math, I can take it. Some of my friends have also recently become parents .......grandparents. I really don't want to sound like an old fool, but take it from someone who's been where you guys are now. Cherish everyday, they go by real fast! And take life seriously..... just not too seriously!

Since I'm not sure if that's a smart ass reply , I'll answer it..

Actually, in September. Around the time School used to start. It was a way to make the school year seem to go by faster..I'd listen to one episode a day.

Then you will have to watch a long time even after new year if you watch one episode every day from September.

Only another 3 years until I'm 40, I'm getting there It's crazy that the 1987 series will be turning 40 in 2 years, holy sh*t Before we know it the 2003 and 2012 shows will be that age It didn't feel that long ago that I was a kid in the 90's believing that Klangers were on the moon and the turtles were living in the sewers. I remember wanting to go down to the sewers to look for them When the characters broke the fourth wall in the 1987 show I thought they did exist in real life and were talking to me through the TV screen I really miss my childhood It was great getting to grow up through the different eras of the TMNT shows.

Cool. I am just 2 years away from being 40 as well. Life sure does go by fast once you turn 20.

It's like it starts around the first four years after High School. You look back and realize that High School was four years ago - the same number of years you were in High School.

From that point it's like the chronometer stops following a cadence and just speeds up even more with each rotation.

I feel like time is going in even quicker now in my 30's than what it did in my 20's I remember back in the school days looking at the clock in the classroom and thinking to myself "Why is time going in so slow? I wish time would hurry up and go in faster so I can go home." Now I'm wishing time would go a bit slower
