I believe the Christmas special was produced first, whereas Space Invaders was aired first (they held onto the Christmas episode for several months until Dec).
The only story-related clue that Christmas Aliens comes first is that Leather head is absent, whereas he's a next-door neighbor after the Space Invaders arc.

Hey, good to see you still hanging around here!

But yes, mostly this. Also the Purple Dragons are just using generic “guns”. Basically all the gangs were using Triceraton tech after the invasion arc.

It's more noticible on live action stuff, but imperceivable on most animation. And 4k is ACTUALLY pointless; that's literally a higher resolution than the human eye. It's impossible to actually detect the difference.

Beyond that, physical media is still really easy to get online, and for pretty cheap. And none of that changes the point that YOU DON'T ACTUALLY OWN DIGITAL MEDIA. You own a licenese to it, that can be revoked at any time if the servers go down or the licence moves owners. There goes your library, and there's nothing you can do about it. Your stuff is gone, and the money you spent on it is still spent. Additionally, portable doesn't matter as much if you don't have an internet connection. I can watch my discs whenever I want. There are many more potential points of failure when relying on fully online tech. And once again, physical media can NEVER be edited after the fact, which we've already seen happen on older movies. I'm not getting left behind by using physical media and creating a personal offline archive, I'm ensuring that I actually own it and never lose it. I'm willing to use streaming, but I see no reason to "adapt" to what is ultimately a worse version of the previous system, nor do I wish to fully rely on something so inherently unstable.

Excellently said... I collect physical media, for all of these reasons. We see these licensing issues with video games as well. Activision for example; everyone wants to play their older games, Transformers, Marvel, etc... and I've seen nothing but complaints for years from fans begging them to re-aquire the rights to sell them digitally. Physical media is certainly not dead. Vinyl records are a perfect example. I collect bluray steelbooks, vinyl soundtracks and know several others that do... while some big box stores may have stopped offering it, that's due in part to online shopping being the preferred means to acquire it.

I'm not fully against streaming or digital purchases though. I've acquired several video games on the cheap in recent years but I think both forms of media are thriving. Physical will always be where it's at for me.

TMNT fans need to get out of all those Facebook groups and get back to the Drome. I'm guilty of doing the same but coming back here, I realized that this forum is still where it's at.

I usually use Instagram to talk to other TMNT fans, I like looking at the pictures they upload of their figure collections I don't collect figures myself due to lack of space left to put stuff, most of my house if filled up with physical media I prefer physical media too. I love looking at the artwork on a nice steelbook or box set. The artwork for the older DVD releases of the 2003 show looks great It's the same for games, I don't like it when you can only get some games on digital.
