Michelangelo's nunchuks: chain or rope?

Do I prefer a chain or a rope? Don't think I really care, but I guess an artist who depicts them with a chain gets props for daring to take on extra detail? I'd be more concerned if they're inconsistantly drawn, you wouldn't want them to change from one type to another in the same story.

Things like that bother me more, I think of any instance where Mike's nunchucks suddenly looked different in the same story, but a TMNT example I've brought up before is IDW Rocksteady. His tattoos pretty much seem to shift in and out of existance depending on wheter or the artist likes drawing them.

I prefer the chain but I don't hate the rope I guess.
