TMNT Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants Console and PC game

Quote:
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Wrath of the Mutants, the 2017 arcade game by Raw Thrills based on the 2012 Nickelodeon TV series, is coming to all home consoles and PC on April 23. Developed by Cradle Games and Raw Thrills, it includes the voice actors from the show (Seth Green, Sean Astin, Rob Paulsen, Greg Cipes) reprising their roles as well as four-player local co-op.

Definitely didn't have a much-belated port of THIS game on my 2024 bingo card, but I am HERE for it! They're even adding more stages and bosses like the Nintendo ports of the OG arcade games!

Yup. I think they could have released this a lot sooner but hey, I'll take it. It's a shame for any game to be stuck on arcade cabinets forever. It really limits the audience potential. Glad this is happening.

This will be the first 2012 game worth playing right?
Or are any of the other ones any good?

I'm guessing this port only happened because of the success of the new game we got last year and the collection.

hey was that your 10,000th post sdp?

the years surrounding the 2012 series were terrible for tmnt games. I suspect this will be the best one set in the 2012 series, by a large margin.

I only played the arcade game once too. My wife and I went to a local arcade area near us (The Main Event I think it's called?) and I was playing the game and a little kid came by to play as another Turtle. I died and was getting ready to walk away and he put his own money into machine so I could keep playing, haha.

I had to tell him "hey little dude, that's your money!"

I have a feeling this will probably only be a digital release, looks like Game Mill is involved with this port and they've been pretty bad about physical releases.

I think Danger of the Ooze used to be on steam but I dont see it, I was always curious since it was made by wayforward but apparently it had bad reviews. I only see Portal of Power on steam for the 2012 show but that's based on a mobile game I think. The first 2012 game also didn't get much praise but it seemed like a boring but not horrible beat em up.
IIRC this arcade game was praised but it was just a bit short, so a few more levels and a budget price might be a great deal. I remember many people wanted to see this ported.
Danger of the Ooze wasn't bad. Story was just kind of there, but I enjoyed playing it on the 3DS. I also enjoyed Portal Power until that freaking impossible Krang stage that they added to it.

Definitely picking this up.

It’s 29.99, it just started getting listed on retailer sites within the last hour. I’ll be getting it on steam myself.

I'm sure the game will only take about 20 minutes to finish so I'm not sure I'll buy it. Maybe give it a rent if possible.

There aren't really any good games based on the 2012 cartoon though so this is probably the better one of all the ones that came out.

It's kind of ironic that the Nick Turtles are now "two generations old."

We went through Rise of the TMNT and now Mutant Mayhem, so Nick 2012 is now oddly "retro" especially for the kids who grew up with it.

Looks like the game has "leaked" somewhat

Some other channels posting longplays of it as well.

Gotta say it looks really nice on PS5. I'm nervous for my switch copy to be dissapointing in that department.

I'm so excited. Game Mill don't have a good track record though- but because it's a port, with additional content, I'm hoping they won't mess it up.

Outright Games working on the Mutant Mayhem game, that's gone quiet. Another publisher with a poor track record....

Curious to see how this is received. This genre of games have come a long way. I'm not sure it's gonna be loved beyond Turtle fans.

Yeah, that's what I think. I doubt it'll get too much coverage outside of "well, it's a modern-day arcade port. If you like Turtles, you might find enjoyment here."

I just now found this post on the message board. I am pretty excited to play this. I watched the 2012 series about 2 years ago and I thought it was pretty good. It's noce to see those turtles get some more love. They are way more interesting than the Mutant Mayhem turtles. Btw, Danger of the Ooze was a pretty good 2012 turtles game considering how cheap it is. I have the 3ds version and I play through it about once a year.
