I just saw this on the TMNT 1990 movie social media page:

"The Fall of Casey Jones" is an upcoming proof-of-concept trailer from the producer of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film franchise, Kim Dawson.

After the death of his brother, martial arts instructor, Casey Jones, inserts himself into the middle of a gang war to rain down his own brand of justice.

Written and Directed by Sam Rocco.

Yeah, it's just a pitch, I think. Some of the 1990 film guys have been trying to convince TPTB they should be allowed to do live-action TMNT again. It would probably do alright in their hands, but I doubt Viacom is really listening.

Not the world's biggest John Morrison fan, but he was f*cking born to play Casey Jones. That vs. Kick-Ass clip proves it.

I can't believe they auditioned a bunch of wrestlers for that crummy "Out of the Shadows" movie, and after all that they hire Sheamus to play Rocksteady but then for Casey Jones they get Stephen Amell. Just goes to show you how completely off-base every single priority they had in making that movie was.

I do think he was probably the worst part of the movie, which was a big let-down for all the hype of bringing in Casey Jones... via the Green Arrow himself!

I'm guessing Casey is such a popular choice for fan films because the concept behind him is fairly easy to film. With the Turtles you need suits, CGI or some other specialised SFX. The props and costume for Casey can be found at any thrift shop you visit.

All youze need for a Casey film are one or two bad guys, and a guy to hide under a Hockey mask for ten minutes of screen time! Toitles are much more complex

Overall, I'm not sure what to make of it. It is proof of concept, but I feel like this trailer misses the point of Casey's character entirely, at least when it comes to the original movies. The Casey that we love in the movies is witty, humorous, and charismatic, with a few screws loose. I'm not seeing that based on this trailer so far.

Because there's not really anything else going on here but peekaboo cameos and slow-mo. Competently shot, though. I'd hire that DP for something.

It looks like the director of this is heading up a TMNT movie panel at SDCC this weekend?
