Why Are Conservatives So Easily Triggered?
I’ve always thought conservatives were all about standing their ground and being tougher than the liberal snowflakes. Lately, I’ve noticed how easily offended they are. My family is very conservative and they get all flustered with gay and trans people. What a weird dichotomy. My coworkers are kind of the same about everything.
What gives? |

I don't feel like you're bringing anything concrete to the table here. I don't identify as Conservative, but this seems purely anecdotal to me.
You're relatives are easily triggered so now "Conservatives are easily triggered". To be honest, the Liberal side comes across as more "easily triggered" to me. Again, I don't identify with them necessarily either. It seems to me that people with all types of political stances can be easily "triggered". I look at the social and political landscape today and everyone seems to be offended about something, conservatives and liberals both included. |

But seriously... a simple glance at the past year or two of the Drome (as a baseline, albeit probably a bad one), the number of hardcore liberals that go nutso, report people of another viewpoint at every opportunity and complain about being triggered and past traumas is fairly staggering. Versus, you know, everybody else.

Both sides are easily triggered.
Humanity is fragile. Weak, fragile meat puppets. Whoops, gave myself away. Long live AI.

Many conservatives as we know, do not approve of Homosexuality or Transgenderism as a valid lifestyle, but they do not wrap themselves in misery and unhappiness over the fact that its social acceptance has grown among the people. Sure, perhaps if they had their way, things would be different, but life goes on, and many conservatives still work towards their goals while not using emotional fragility to recieve attention. Compare this to say, the liberal reaction to Donald Trump getting elected. Everywhere, people were threatening to kill themselves, wailing out in the streets, and drowning in their own misery. This is not normal human behaviour.

I haven't done any research on that topic specifically so I don't know about that.

I promise you. IRL I know a lot of liberals and I know a lot of conservatives and I know a lot of in-betweens... years and years and I have yet to meet even one person, even in my day job in the hospitality industry, that legitimately will stand there and tell you there is a "War on Christmas."
My point is, while there may or may not be some pockets of crackpots that do believe that (somewhere), the noise being raised by the left about it being a thing is far louder than any of the actual, supposed noise about it by the right which, to me, has been 0.
