Who wants a new fighting game ?
Am I the only one who wants a new TMNT fighting game in 2D/3D like Street Fighter 4 or the last Mortal Kombat ? I mean there is a lot of potential : many characters, both are fighters except a few (April, Baxter, Fugitoid...). It can be based on the IDW comic because of the new characters like Alopex, Hold Hob, Koya or Bludgeon.
I think it's more original than a new beat'em up or a new platform game we used to have. I know that won't happen because Activision don't really care and they only made games about the Nick Show because it's more popular. Out of the shadows was the only exception and it didn't sell well as far as I know. They only care about the kid audience. What do you think ?

You should probably change the title of this thread so other people like me won't think there actually is one coming out. Maybe "Who wants a new fighting game" would be better. I got excited for nothin'.

Yeah, that's a great idea m8. The story mode in Mortal Kombat was the best I have played in a game, and I loved how it was separated into chapters for differing characters. I also enjoyed the challenge mode.
I'd love to see a TMNT story mode like that, set either in Mirage, FW, 4kids universe etc. And we could obviously have a challenge mode as well. If they were to do those two things it would be an instant buy. I'm always thinking about a TMNT game set in the Arkham vein, but I hadn't really thought of a one-on-one fighter with a fantastic story mode (i.e. not Smash Up). Thanks for the topic |

Me. A good one based on IDW would be great.

I'd love to see a new one. If MK can provide a game with over 30 characters, I feel that TMNT could go for about 50 or more. There are so many characters to choose from. Personally, I'd hope for a tun of villains since I'm a sucker for most of them. Yeah, a huge story mode would rule. The stages should be as numerous as the characters. I really like the interactive environments that NRS did for Injustice. Quite fun to get knocked through a window or whatever. We're seriously overdue for a new TMNT fighter.

Yes. I've been playing Street Fighter 3d a lot recently and a SF styled Tmnt game where every character plays differently would rock. I could probably put together a roster of over 50 characters in no time.

Considering every major game generation (Konami/Konami II/Ubisoft) have had a fighter of some sort, and I'm a GIANT fan of fighting games (I've played over 100 different ones and it's my favorite genre), I'm super adamant about getting a new one.

Would rather have a 3D one in the same style of SoulCalibur but I'm a sucker for TMNT games so I would take either style

I think a 2D fighter (especially if it had visuals like bushido's sig there) would be my most favored angle, but one like SoulCalibur would be a close second.
We discussed an IDW-based fighter in another topic and other than a Multiverse-based one, that's the direction I'd like to see a fighter head. For one, it has more combat-worthy female characters so the game wouldn't be an absolute sausagefest. I totally have dibs on an audition for a character's voice in an IDW fighter btw.

Hmmm easy solution... once Viacom has had it's run, sell the franchise to WB
Then you can get an Arkham style TMNT, a Mortal Kombat style Fighting Game minus fatalities loaded with Characters, a darker mirage like movie series, a mature live action tv show & a mature mirage like animation series, high quality collectors merchandise as well as having kids versions of an animation series, kid friendly games including a Lego one and merchandise. Just like WB do with DC. |

Hey, this weekend I played a bit of TMNT: Tournament Fighters and enjoyed it... on Genesis!
Sadly, I couldn't remember the pattern to beat Triceraton with Raphael. April and Raph were the only characters I could ever beat the game with.

I'd definitely play one in the same vein as either MK/Injustice or SoulCalibur. I actually made a bunch of TMNT characters in SCIII back in the day.
We're definitely overdue for one.
