Do you believe Mind Control exists?
I'd be curious in hearing people's thoughts about this.
Me personally, I believe that Literal Mind Control does not exist, like how its portrayed in movies. However, I do believe there is such a thing as excellent propaganda, but it requires the willing consent and belief of those who are being subjected to it. This willing consent of so many people at once, who all believe in the same thing, creates the illusion of some external force controlling their thoughts in my opinion. Its a fascinating subject to ponder about.

Likewise, no, not in the sense of what movies may portray. But, like you're saying, yeah, people vary in how suggestible they are. Some people can FAR more easily get swept up in something (Jan 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol is an excellent big example). I wouldn't really call that "mind control" per se, but it's certainly adjacent to it when easily persuaded suggestible people are being preyed upon and used for someone else's agenda.

You don't need mind control to control people. Good propaganda is enough.
Your Christianity is pretty good at it, btw. |

These things are examples of academic virtues of "mind control" - the "real" mind control.
Example 1 On an academic level - by virtue of repetition yes. We've seen it in University studies such as the Milgram "Obedience To Authority" prison replication and we've seen control-changes in things like "Stockholm Syndrome". Example 2 One of the first things of relevance that a Bachelor's level psych student learns at a decent college is that thoughts are physical structures. This can be hard to grasp for people who have no background in this. But you can physically go into someone's head with a pair of tweezers and remove thought by removing the synaptic connections carrying the action potential and chemical libraries for a particular thought. And so, in that regard, mind control is also possible. Example 3 Repetitious programming from a perceived-as-credible source can enable "mind control". We saw this with the social-propaganda over the last several years. This is how you mobalize the "peasant thinker". Whether you like that term or not, whether you hate it deeply because you fear that you are one of the "peasant thinkers" when you hear it, it doesn't matter. It's categorically and academically truthful. Repetition programing from a perceived-as-credible source is an enabler for a form of "mind control". Refutation #1 But as far as things like "psychic powers making someone else commit an action"? No. |

Are we talking about when someone spins a pendulum in front of someones eyes and hypnotizes them to do something like you see in TV and movies and cartoons? Because I doubt that works in real life.

Mind control is definitely real, but not in the way its depicted in fantastical media. Propaganda is heavily used in this day and age, people are bombarded with it in some form or another all day long (advertisements, mostly).
But Jason Bourne-style mind-programming is also possible, as well. Look into MKUltra (the real stuff, not the Stranger Things stuff). Shit just look at the RFK assassination, the guy they set-up for that was definitely subconsciously programmed. Honestly many of the mass shootings of the past 20 years have been accomplished through "brainwashing" (mental programming instilled while the person was in a suggestive state, potentially in tandem with psychotropic drugs).

Until somebody finally invents control collars or brain boxes for field testing, I can’t rule it out…
