^ Stress can wreck some hell on a body. I've been dealing with some of that myself. Be sure to take some time for yourself: decaf coffee, tea, and some lavender scented stuff might help out.

Spring might be around the corner, but the transition is often times, an awkward thing.

Today... A rough sleep, windy, 30s and raining, you-know-what starting early, train stopped and sitting frozen on the tracks blocking traffic for a while, radio on long commercial break for most of the drive kind of day.

Seems to be rougher sleep in general lately. Really think that war and the stress of it is to blame.. with not knowing what or how this is even going to end, if another country is attacked, if an NATO ally is and we have to get involved with, the discomfort with seeing Ukraine just being left to fight it themselves...
I feel you on the sleep and shark week part of all that. Oddly enough, so am I. Right on time, if one takes the "new, improved" accelerated schedule into account. Spent a miserable day at work with THAT as my constant companion, plus another blood pressure episode. And they refuse to listen to me when I describe the issue and instead just tell me "everything looks good!" Tell that to my racing heart and spinning head!

My sympathy with those frustrations. Why ignoring a patient's complaints isn't considered a form of malpractice sometimes is beyond me. If a patient knows something is different or wrong, then why not give them a recommendation to another doctor or specialist, if the present one can't figure it out, instead of shrugging it off?

Really kind of hits home. My mom was quite mad at her family doctor for quite a while for the same reason after my dad passed. I mean, I get it, he had a rare illness with symptoms that could have been a lot of things and it isn't that doctor's fault at all that it was something far outside of her specialty and knowledge and had never encountered it before. But she likewise was saying everything looked fine and kept shrugging it off, and even went as far as to suggest to my mom that it was in her head, like Munchausen by proxy that my mom had no history of doing. (I think only because my mom is rather stuck in her ways and the woman was remorseful later for having no clue did my mom not switch doctors.)

I hope your issue gets sorted out one day soon Duckie and that you get in front of someone who will listen and care to get to the bottom of it.

Right?

Totally predictable though. I've mentioned before how about 95% of my family is women. And almost every single one is separated/divorced, either directly or in part for being a cheating whore. Most of them totally unrepentant. In my experience almost every single woman is like that. They come in two flavors: Whores and Whores-In-Training. The ones who aren't simply never got the chance.

"Coincidentally", recent studies show that women now cheat at a much higher rate than men do, and also, go to any lengths at all to justify it. "I've just gotten bored" is apparently the new favorite and most common excuse. Furthermore, most of them choose to stay in their main "relationship" and just keep cheating because "It's not worth ruining my family over; I want to keep having my cake and eating it too." Because that's "healthy" and not at all trash behavior. What's more is that apparently most of them are advised by their therapists - again, 90-something percent of whom are women - to engage in such behavior. There was a whole thing about it recently.

And some people wonder why men such as myself have such an overwhelming distaste for women in general. Hah. Hah hah HAH hah HAH. Hah.

Yeah, yeah, "Not LITERALLY Every Single Woman", I GUESS. But I'm still pretty f*cking convinced that they WOULD if they knew they'd get away with it. And besides, even if it's "just" 9 out of 10 there's just no way for me to have anything but disgust for them as a species. There's simply no way. They're collectively awful people. "Trust the Science".

While I am obligated to mention that I don't have the same inherent and general view of women that you do, there is no doubt that this kind of behaviour is absolutely horrendous and in-excusable. Whether all parties consent or not, cheating is shameful, and there is a reason why most societies throughout history criminalised it with real consequences in the flesh.

This kind of societal decay with people shamelessly declaring unfaithfulness is part of why I think that freedom is a terrible principle to run society with, as it does not keep the family unit in order. Oftentimes, people are absolutely in the wrong, and DO need to be told what to do, or stopped with force before they can do it.

The part about therapists encouraging infidelity especially makes my blood boil. Its terrible that you have to deal with such a moron in your life, and your society encouraging and enabling her.

Well at least in her case it's not something anyone put in her head. Christ, if she actually went to therapy we might not have these problems.

OR, with my luck, she'd get one of the "Just cheat but don't tell him" type of therapists since it's become so standard.

It's whatever, "A snake can only ever be a snake" and all that. They're just being true to their nature, at the end of the day.

The funniest thing though is the CONSTANT accusations of cheating I've had to listen to for all these years. Even more recently she asks me stuff like "So what, you'd rather be with someone else?" And I'm like "NO idiot, you think I'd EVER want to go through all of this AGAIN?" Like what part of "My dislike and distrust of women is deep-seeded, well-founded, and totally irreversible ISN'T CLEAR?!" I'd be a f*cking idiot to think it would be different with anyone else.

The odds of me going full-on "John Doe from the movie 'Seven'" when this farce is over with are astronomically greater, at this point, than me ever being in another "relationship". Or at the least maybe Patrick Bateman. That guy had a lot on the ball.

Reminds me of my all-time favorite joke.

Kid comes home from school. Asks his Dad what's the difference between In Theory and In Reality. Dad says, "Go ask your sister if she'd give a random guy a blowjob for a thousand bucks." Kid asks, comes back and tells Dad the answer is Yes. Dad says, "Now go ask your mother if, for ten grand, she'd f*ck any guy who could pay her." Kid goes and asks, once again comes back to report that the answer is Yes.

"Well son, that's the difference between In Theory and In Reality," the father says. "In THEORY, I've got a wife and a daughter. In REALITY, I've got a couple of f*cking whores."

Wakka wakka. Again, some of the shine comes off when faced with the reality of just how true it is. But eh. Still funny.

Today's Update: Sees me walking around in a bad mood, asks "What's the matter?"

Thank the God I don't believe in that this will all be over soon.

On the one hand, I'm tempted to tell you to leave her, but on the other hand, that would mean leaving the dog with her which she absolutely can't be trusted with.

What?! Lord no, I never said that. I'm not even okay with them being allowed to vote. I'm definitely not okay with women being in any kind of position of power or authority. Didn't you hear me repeatedly say that they're incurably evil as a default?

I've had a few women bosses. When given power, a woman's sole purpose becomes "getting even" with every man who ever "did them wrong". Suffice to say, it is my firm belief that they make poor leaders and I'd sooner starve than ever work for one again. Putting them in government is asking for disaster.

I mean, once again, it's consensus among most women that "my husband bores me" is a good reason to cheat on them. There's enough immoral people in government already, we don't need people who think like That making rules for the rest of us.

Not sure where you got that one, Andrew. Definitely have me confused with someone else. I never have, would, or will state that I'd ever be okay with anything like that.

FWLeo: As has often been stated, if I had a place to go I'd be there. I'd prefer to keep the dog but at this point I'd settle for freedom. Unfortunately, people are spiteful, so whenever I ask anyone for help all I get is "You should've left 20 years ago, I would've helped you Then but now it's too late, I got my own sh*t going on."

But I mean, it's whatever. Soon none of it will matter anymore. It is what it is.

The women's suffrage movement was a mistake. Why can't it be 1910 again.

And force you to actually work, leaving the house and doing physical labor, possibly forced to for a lot more hours since 40 wasn't the standard yet, for slave wages since minimum didn't exist, and no way to cheat the employer and waste time on something else since there's no internet or games? Then get shipped off to World War 1 and possibly World War 2?

Yes, I'm sure you'd just adore going back to 1910.

You'd be shoving women aside to get back in the time machine to return to 2022.

edit: Oh, and you wouldn't have your fancy insurance so your ruined teeth would have to be removed and probably without anesthesia.

In all fairness though I think even men should have to take an IQ test and also some sort of test to prove they understand at least the bare minimum of how things like Economics work, before they're allowed to vote. I'm very much against "Everyone who breathes gets an opinion". Just so it doesn't sound like I'm only coming down on women. MOST people are far too stupid to have any say whatsoever in how their government is run.

Which is why I've always been attracted to dictatorships even if only on a surface level. The only real problem with them is that they're designed so that only the most corrupt and self-serving ever ascend to power. But we've seen throughout history that "One Man answerable to No One" is how sh*t gets done the most efficiently. If a country ever somehow had a truly altruistic dictator they'd skyrocket past every other country on Earth, including this one, in about a decade or so.

But again, that idea supposes that altruistic people in positions of power can even exist, and that's simply false.

It isn't really a grind, more just a "yeah, that figures," but really...

Can we just talk about how the people who only need reading glasses, who don't have to spend their every waking moment wearing glasses like us nearsighted ones, and in many cases are able to just buy them at Dollar Tree...now get an eye drop to temporarily 'fix' their vision. (Vuity if you haven't seen the ads.)

I mean, that's cool and all and kudos to those who invented that, but for all the nearsighted people with expensive glasses prescriptions and those of us hoping to not be legally blind someday... No way in hell are we gonna ever get that kind of easy fix. Like comparably, I'm not sure the reading vision issue seemed that important to address if dollar store glasses work for most.

Sweet Mother YES!! My biggest problem is severe near-sighted mess, and it's a constant pain to deal with. Getting new glasses every year or two, forgetting where I put them when I take them off to do something that needs very close vision (like stringing beads last night to restring the necklace I made after the wire broke), or just having to clean them all the time.
