Yeah, wait. Why are we supposed to hate "Far From Home," now? Beyond my wish that they'd stop going so damn "big" with these Spider-Man movies, I enjoyed it fine.

I don't hate it, I just can't get myself into a headspace to watch it. Maybe once Phase 4 is further along, but right now, I think I'm pretty burned out on Marvel stuff. Have been since Endgame.

So with No Way Home a lot of these titles have a meaning. Homecoming was about School, Far From Home was about leaving home being on trip to another country, No Way Home would be implying that SpiderMan can't find his way back home in the Multiverse. With only 2 episodes of WandaVision left, Its setting up the Multiverse and Spider-Man: No Way Home will be the movie that deals with the aftermath of what happened after episode 9 of WandaVision. They haven't started filming Dr Strange 2 yet. and this one is coming out in December.

No one is supposed to. I just want so much more from a Spider-Man movie and the plot is pretty goofy. The whole scene on the bus, how Peter acts with the glasses, the fact that Tony gave Peter the glasses in the first place. I find myself questioning a lot of it.
There's also the lack of any real consequence. Does Peter really go through...anything?

I didn't really understand the love for Mysterio either. Gyllenhaal is a good actor but it's not like he had much to work with here. The action scenes weren't improved by his special effects. I found myself questioning the logic and possiblity of his illusions. I wasn't "wowed" by the effects, it just looked especially cartoony and rather non-threatening.

It's sort of a fun summer movie and I can enjoy moments throughout, but I guess it all feels a bit more cartoonish than it does when Raimi or the Russo's handle Spider-Man. I really do enjoy Homecoming though.

Liked Homecoming, hated Far from home and consider it to be one of the worst MCU movies plot-wise.

Hopefully third movie will be better.

I mean what's the point of buying movies to leave them in their wrapper on the shelf and never opening them? Isn't that just a waste of money? Do you never intend to watch them?

I love how you are as fascinated by this as I am your plan to die with all your money.

I mean, it kinda surprises me people would buy something...and just leave it on your shelf...for years and years. It almost sound like he just bought all 7 Spider-man movies to say he has all 7 movies on his shelf, even if he doesn't intend to watch any of them after the original trilogy.

No, I don't get it either. Especially as these things tend to go down in price over time.
Though I do understand having particular consumer quirks.

Operating under one of it's production codenames, No Way Home put out casting calls lately for the roles of "a courtroom stenographer, videographer and attorney", leading to fresh speculation of Charlie Cox's alleged involvement

I personally never intend to leave anything sitting, I just get distracted because I have so much stuff going on. Days go by pretty fast sometimes.

I very often only get around to games or movies months or even years after buying them, but that's never my intention and I never feel like I "wasted" anything. I get there eventually, I'm just busy.

I'm hoping that the rumors of Spider-Men appearing in Dr. Strange 2 are true. That's where I'm hoping to get my Spider-Man movie fix. Raimi knows what he is doing.

I want to be excited for Spider-Man 3, given it has Tobey Maguire and a Christmas setting, which is basically "double Christmas" for me, but Far From Home took a big ol **** in my shoe and I can't forget the smell.

I would love to eat crow, because this sounds so stupid to me.

Can't they let the character to grow up a little by now?

Assuming he gets more than 3 movies, they're probably gonna milk it for as long as Holland keeps looking like a kid. That dude is the youngest looking whatever old he is I have ever seen. Same for MJ and Ned's actors.

If it's one bright side, at least they look more like believable schoolkids compared to other movies where people in their 30's are still in high school.

I wonder if Holland's deflecting rumors is because we are more interested in returning characters from previous iterations than his Spider-Man. I will see it regardless, but it's the Raimi films that had the most right and what I am most invested in.

As for letting the characters grow up, I mean there is the 5 years younger than the non-snapped people. It's a gimmick to hold them all in place. I am surprised though that Peter only spent roughly 30 stories in high school. Stan Lee got Peter out of high school in Amazing Spider-Man#28. The original comics should have spent more time in high school, but que' sera sera. The Raimi film reflected that too. I do prefer Peter as a college student though.

Yeah, they got a lot right. Everything except the title character being a whiny, limp-dicked putz who was constantly on the verge of bawling for three straight movies! Too bad they couldn't have fixed that one thing. Seems KIND of important!

Nope.

Spider-Man's whole appeal is that he grew and changed, and wasn't defined by a singular stats quo. Things grew, things advanced, things actually HAPPENED.

3 high school movies is reasonable. Especially with someone like Holland who can make it convincing. And this isn't really Marvel where they oddly like to cut off their series at movie #3... Sony will undoubtedly keep on trucking with Holland until the wheels come off, Marvel Studios or not.

So yeah, eventually we'll get "Holland Spider-Man: the college years" and beyond and all that.
