Concerning the props seen on the set, they are exactly the same as in the first movie, so we don't have any idea of how the turtles will look in the sequel.

Perhaps they are cars that are set to be CGI destroyed for the scene that they were filming at the time.

I think it's due to safety too, so no flying debris hits anyone.

Back in October of last year and again a week before Memorial Day Krang was hinted at, but never confirmed. Is there confirmation of Krang being involved in the film or is just speculation at this point?

There is a rumor about the crew who filmed a scene including the arrival on earth of something throw a dimensional portal.
