Bananas is likely an easy skip for me since I never had the figure and no other attachment to the character. That said, I love that Super 7 are included some of these obscure late line characters in the early waves. Given NECA is pumping out toon (and now Mirage & Archie) characters who never got figures back in the day it helps them set the line apart.

Hmm, I think this’ll be the first wave for me that’s an easy full pass. I was really hoping for Tragg and/or Rat King this time but no dice. If anything, I might get the Triceraton.

Guerrilla Gorilla is a deep cut from TMNT magazine... which makes me think they weren't allowed to us Sgt. Bananas.

This wave is a big disappointment for me. Punker Don looks great but I'm skipping variants. Robotic Bebop and Warrior Michelangelo are fine but... meh? How many people were hoping to get those before basically anything from the first three years? Guerrila Gorilla looks freaking amazing but who the heck is he? An obscure character from the magazine? Ok. And he's $75! That one stings quite a bit since pretty much everyone thought we were getting Sgt Bananas today.

The Triceraton is the only figure I'll be ordering and he honestly looks kind of awful. The proportions seem off and he is posed really awkwardly in his beauty shot. Makes me worried for his production figure.

Big miss of a wave IMO.

I think you're right, and it sucks bc everyone had pretty much assumed it was going to be him, I may get GG, just bc he looks amazing

I might be in the minority here in preferring Guerilla Gorilla over Sgt. Bananas (even though I had Sgt. Bananas as a kid), if only because of how much cooler he looks to me (and is pretty much the same character, anyway). Him, Triceraton, and Punker Don are definite buys for me. Not all that interested in the robot Bebop or the Metalhead variant, personally, though I think it's cool they made them.

I gotta say, I am a little surprised at Punker Don rather than Undercover Don, but now this has me thinking that maybe undercover variants are gonna be a thing for all four brothers done the same way as that Undercover Raph that's on BBTS.

I'll definitely be getting Triceraton. However, I'm really disappointed with Sergeant Bananas and will be skipping. Bummer, because he was one of my most anticipated figures of this line.

Sergeant Bananas: I appreciate when they take little bits of creative license to enhance the original designs, but this is just way too much of a departure. His entire aesthetic, outfit, color palette, accessories, and expressions have completely changed. He doesn't look like a TMNT figure. Huge, huge, disappointment. That's not Sergeant Bananas. That's some goofy fan fiction character. Not feeling the shoulder articulation cuts, either. Looks like SH Figuarts. Also, $75.00? What the hell? I'd be very surprised if literally anyone pre-orders this.

Triceraton: Looks pretty good. Faithful to the original, with additional detail and more accessories. Just wish he didn't have articulation on the shoulders (like Bebop and Rocksteady- I hate those articulation cuts.

Punker Don: Looks great. Great detail. Makes me wish we could get an alternate headsculpt pack for the four base turtles. A great example of: you can deploy some creative license, but make sure you do it on alt accessories that you can swap out. In other words, the creative license has to be optional. If I want the original Punker Don look, I can do that. If I want Super7's vision, I can swap the head. This isn't the case for Sergeant Bananas.

Robotic Bebop: Looks great, aside from the gigantic blue bulb on his arm; way too big. Accessories look cool. I'll be curious to see how that metallic paint actually looks in reality.

Warrior Metalhead Michelangelo: Looks good enough if you're into the repaint. Hopefully they've addressed the loose joints issue.

So, just one figure for me this line. Bummer. This is the first wave where I've preordered less than 3.

Oh, crap... I just realized how much pricier Guerilla Gorilla is compared to the other figures. This is... new. I mean, to an extent it's understandable considering the size, but how come it's only NOW being done whereas before the price was the same all across regardless of size?

It's not actually that much of a redesign of Guerilla Gorilla at all, just minorly. Sgt. Bananas and Guerilla Gorilla are very similar TMNT characters, but they're not the same character. This one is actually a much more obscure character that only appeared once in a magazine comic (with art of questionable quality).

Correct, it's literally not Sgt Bananas. It's Guerilla Gorilla (apparently). And yeah, I'm worried that this means we won't be getting a Sgt Bananas, or if we do it won't be for like three years.

I think you meant to say "awesome". He's faithful to the original, which was one of my favorite vintage figures and we can see his impressive appearance in the group shot (he looks to be built like a tank!). He also comes with a nifty face mask and some additional blade accessories, making him a good figure to army build with.

Whaaaaat! Why wouldn't they be able to use Sgt. Bananas? No one cares about whoever "Guerrilla Gorilla" is.

So disappointing. Of all the other, much cooler, less-well-known TMNT characters they could have gone with...they go with this abomination.

I'm sure their sales on this one will let them know how everyone feels about it.

They're pretty much the same character (just like Vernon Fenwick and Vernon Prindle), except GG seems to have a friendlier demeanor here with some Donkey Kong vibes going on.

I mean, the art in the comic isn't the greatest, but I still think the figure looks amazing. Again, I know I'm totally in the minority here, but despite owning the Sgt. Bananas figure when I was younger, I'm actually kinda really preferring the design of Guerilla Gorilla.

Not crazy about that price, though...

I always assumed "Sgt. Bananas" was a late name change on Playmates' part due to either marketing or copyright concerns. So it's odd to see Super7 swap the name back to the more generic (but punny) "Guerrilla Gorilla."

I probably would pre-order that figure out of this bunch but $75 is a daunting retail price. He does look fantastic though. To date I've only bought 2 of the Super7 figs.

EDIT: Buffy provided full scans of the Welsh Magazine comics where our Gorilla pal makes his only fictional appearance to date:
http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/sho...&postcount=124
The Photobucket tags compromise the image quality a bit, so maybe I'll check my PC files later to see if I have any ready-to-post scans.

EDIT x 2: The "Sgt. Bananas" version did get a cameo in the TMNT newspaper strip courtesy of Jim Lawson:

I think those sort of images were used to accompany the "Fan Art" gallery days.
