Part of the deal with Nick was the Mirage could print so many comics a year...but now that IDW is doing comics, I doubt Laird will wanna release any through Mirage. Maybe the ole' Mirage crew can get picked up by IDW. I'd love to see new stuff from them.

I'm kind of ambivalent toward Laird's comments on the IDW preview. Apart from enjoying his work on Turtles, I really don't care for him.

But I am hoping with Eastman on board, this comic is going to have some good action in it.

Since when did Kevin Eastman become the writer? He's only contributing ideas.

1) Co-writing is still writing; it's just writing in collaboration with another. Eastman's been billed as the co-writer the entire time.

2) Eastman is also providing page layouts, which means he's going to be largely responsible for the storytelling in the comics. Panel arrangement, individual panel composition -- this is storytelling. It's essentially a barer-bones version of pencilling that the primary penciller then draws on top of (indeed, some artists go straight from layouts to the ink stage). This is a hugely integral part of the artistic process.

Needless to say, both co-writing and providing layouts are far more significant than simply "contributing ideas."

The perennial question we've pondered since the sale.

I am confident, no matter how many years it takes, eventually...at SOME point, PL will do a quick Vol. 4 conclusion in comic form, most likely getting Jim Lawson back as the artist too.

It doesn't feel as if PL left his final mark on the Turtles yet, and in the back of his mind, its the fact that the franchise is continuing on without him. This nagging feeling will compel him to at least wrap up Vol. 4, thus "leaving his mark" on the franchise.

After reading so many of PL's posts/comments/editorials for years, this is something that will likely bug him for a long time, no matter how much he tries to distance himself from the Turtles.

You seem to know alot about what Peter thinks.....Wait a minute!....Are you Peter Laird! . As much as i respect Peter for what he has given us all, I think he may see the new series as a way for the fans to "forget" about vol 4 and its conclusion, I mean he has wanted to "get away" from the turtles since the sale. I know that he has said he may release his notes for us to read (and maybe a certain group of folk on here will pick it up ) even though i really hope for a conclusion i don't see it happening any time soon...but thats just me.
