Well, I felt like I was running around in circles waiting for something to happen. The Spiderman games have that problem too, but to a lesser extent. Wandering around shooting people to kill time until I figure out what I'm doing isn't my idea of fun. If Ultimate Spiderman and Spiderman 2 didn't have that "hint" system that basically points me where to go, I'd probobly not be able to play it. I don't take hints well. Hell, Zelda games are a nightmare for me at times because I have puzzle solving problems with the dungeons. Things don't leap out at me well. Maybe I'm just dense, or just stupid, but whatever. Outside of that, Miyamoto games for example give you a sense of open-ended freedom while they are really leading you exactly where he wants you to go. That's the difference between his games and other peoples.
Take Ocarina versus Star Fox Adventures for example. Basically they are the same type of game (open ended exploration/adventure), except with Ocarina, you always feel like you are on your way to get something done. Yeah, there's lots of wandering, but there are subtile clues to tell you where to go next and you feel like you're always getting something done, because you are. Star Fox on the other hand had moments where I just sat in the middle of nowhere poking walls for invisible switches because I had no idea what the hell I needed to do to continue. Rare didn't leave that little bread trail across the game to help me. Hell, Rare can only make a clue when they make a character head or voice follow you around and lead you by the nose through the whole game, thus ruining the suprises and killing the freedom aspect. They didn't strike a balance, and I wound up lost because I need little hints to help me along, but not so much that it ruins the sense of adventure and feels like I'm reading a FAQ or something to finish. GTA to me didn't seem to have that extra "breadtrail". I wandered around waiting for something to happen, but it didn't. That, and the style of the game annoys the hell out of me, but that's just personal opinion. Anyway, those are my reasons.

GTA is bad for you.
Picked up The Adventures of Link (GBA) and Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. I traded in FFTA a while back and I so regretted it, so I got it back for 10 bucks. Not bad. |

But...you just go to the markers on the screen to make stuff happen...you know...missions. Other than that, I can see where you're coming from. The style is kind of annoying to me too, but I enjoyed 3 and Vice City. SA was too...urban for me.

There just aren't enough games where you can kill hookers AND listen to Billie Jean.

Nope. I just have lots of money and I enjoy playing games. To be honest, San Andreas is quite an experience. It does promote violence and it is sexist/rascist as hell...plus the language is BRUTAL...but it's still extremely fun. There's just so much to do in the game. More than any other game I've ever played.

I got Smuggler's Run 1 and 2 off eBay for €6.50 each including postage, they were so cheap I couldn't pass them up!

Not really a game, but I bought a component cable for my PS2 so I could play SotC in HD. (Yes, it's that good!) When I got home I realized it doesn't have any audio jacks, so basically I have amazing video quality and no sound to speak of, because the cables don't have audio hookups I have to go buy an optical cable. This wouldn't be that big of a problem, except that I can't find ANY F*CKING OPTICAL CABLES ANYWHERE!

Had this for about a week now, but, Smackdown Vs Raw 2006 (PSP), pretty fun, but load times makes me want to throw it out the window.
