First Impressions Review

My Leonardo China Edition Revoltech came in Friday night and I had a chance to look it over yesterday. I know a few of you have been waiting to see what I thought so I'll just get right into it.

Shipping

The figure arrived one week sooner than the forecasted date of the 13th which was a plus. I'm a seller on eBay as I know a few of you are and I think we can all agree that the way you ship your product is directly indicative of how much of a sh!t you give about your product and how much you respect your customers. With that being said, the first thing I noticed was my figure was crammed into a fliptop box that was too small and then the lid was loosely taped down and a rubber band placed around the outside. Seeing such did not have me very hopeful for the contents inside. Once I opened the package everything seemed to be "ok".

Packaging

The packaging looked legitimate, little to no English as was expected considering this was the "China Edition" of a Japanese release.

Awesome, thanks for the pics!

Looking forward to seeing what you think of the figure outside of the box. Packaging looks solid.

Accessories

All the accessories were present: Pizza with puzzle plate, sewer lid base w/ wall drainpipe stand, 2 katana with individual scabbard, and alternate head. Everything appeared to be painted well on the accessories. So here's where the problems begin:

I did immediately notice one slice of pizza was showing a little green through the cheese because it had been sprayed a little too lightly, but no big deal.

The alternate head hadn't even been drilled out to fit on the revoltech neck joint and therefore couldn't even be used until I took the time to make some modifications.

I'm not sure you can tell from the picture but if you look at the blade of the larger katana you'll notice a line in the paint down close to the hilt. Wanna know why? I'll tell you why. Because there was a f*cking HUMAN HAIR stuck in the dried paint. That's right, a 3" long, black, coarse human hair... Not much grosses me out, but two things that do are human hair and human feces. I guess I should be glad that I got the former of the two and not the later, but I ordered a Revoltech figure, not an Asian DNA sample.

The next thing I noticed which I don't have pictures of is when I assembled the drain pipe stand to the sewer lid base the paint on the peg scratched easily which was a telling statement as to the paint quality of the rest of the pieces.

The Figure

Let's just start with pictures.

Notice anything yet?
Let's look closer...

First of all, the neck joint is such brittle, busted crap he can barely hold his head up. I guess this is supposed to be the "Right After Shredder Whooped My Ass and Crushed My Throat" Edition.

Same deal for the right hip joint. Paint is crap as you can see and HE'S MISSING A F*CKING FINGER!!

More shoddy paint and loose ankle joints...

Baby Got Back Problems

Here's some shots from the back, but first I'll list off the problems I had on this side:
1. The bandana ends fall off the joint peg easily.
2. The holes in the shell are too small for the pegs of the scabbards.
3. More terrible paint.

Posability not a Possibility

I can't tell if he has any eye articulation or not. If he does then the slide in the back has been glued shut and it feels so brittle I wouldn't feel comfortable putting any more force on it than I already have. Not much posturing you can do with this thing. He can hardly even stand. It took a miracle of patience and careful balance to even get this pose out of him.

Why you sound so mad you knowingly bought a bootleg. And five fingers.

A handful of us have been waiting to see if they were up to the same quality of the NECA bootlegs which are pretty good. And for a $30-$40 bootleg the quality is pretty bad.
