Just read the issue.

Those preview pages are deceptive - and the image from io9 of the new turtles is how they'll look by issue 5 according to IGN: https://www.ign.com/articles/tmnt-th...-ninja-turtles

They all got names:

Spoiler:

Odyn - snapping turtle (largest one)

Uno - pale blue, (tallest one)

Moja - brown turtle with a major beak

Yi - painted turtle, smallest one

So the Lost Years will tell stories about these new turtles until they’re 16? I assume this will lead into their own series once Lost Years is done.

Comic is 28 pages of story, 34 "pages" total digitally (counting one double page spread as two).

That was a well-constructed issue. Probably the best of The Last Ronin series since the first or second issue, imo. Glad it didn't lose steam, but gained some instead. I'm not won over by the new characters just yet but I am anxious to see more.

And man, this issue is another reminder that the "Mirage" turtles don't play around. Not even Mikey.

Edit: these aren’t the Mirage turtles but the same spirit is there.

Actually...these are not the Mirage TMNT. This is not a Mirage story. This is the RONINVERSE. It's own thing.

But, yes...Mirage inspired in many ways, no doubt about it, my friend.

Just read the issue. Very intrigued. Loved the Splinter-Mikey flashback scene, the Turtles in this universe do not mess around. Very excited to see how they deal with Shredder in this universe, they seem to be hinting about that in this issue. Very interesting choice of names for the new Turtles, I am very excited to see what kind of characters they turn out to be. Can't wait for issue 2!

I loved this first issue! Of course I love Mikey-centric stories, but this one was totally bodacious! Great job, Tom and Kevin!

Not a huge fan of the "Now" stuff with Casey Marie and the new Turtles, but aside from that, I loved this issue. It was damn satisfying to see Mikey demolish those men, and I loved that flashback scene with Mikey and Splinter. Can't wait to see more.

Hm... I'm going to guess it's either because they mutated from different species, thus making each of them the only one of their kind, or the story will end with them splitting up and being the main character of one story each.
