Playmates to make Power Rangers
So apparently Playmates is set to get the license to make Power Rangers toys. I am just wondering what others think. Is this good? Bad? A little of both? I think it has some potential. On the other and a lot of Playmates ideas have potential but the choke on the execution.

You know they aren't too bad. They're clearly not for collectors but they look fun and they're recreating the Wave 1 of Bandai MMPR. In some ways better than the 2010 reversion toys.
I think going back to MMPR might be the best for now, I'm hoping the AI upscale turns out good but that depends how much effort they put into it so it's up in the air. I mean I've come to terms that we won't be seeing Power Rangers as we knew ever again, and if we do well part of later seasons was that the legacy kept being carried over so if it's a reboot with new suits I doubt I'd care. A reboot of just MMPR could work but it depends how they handle it, if they go the way of the comics then yeah it will suck. |
