Moana 2
Originally, Disney was going to make a TV series sequel, but after the writers' strike, the project turned into a theatrical sequel film. Here are the directors talking about that process. https://www.comingsoon.net/movies/ne...eatrical-movie |

I watched the first one with my daughters half a year ago and they loved it. So we are definitely going.

I saw it on Saturday. The film was all right but not as good or memorable as the original. However, I'm very glad it gave movie theaters such a boost though.

We've just come back from it and apart from Moana/Vaiana's absolutely horrible little sister character, it was really fun and action-packed had some cool songs as well. I read that the script was made out of the scripts they had written for the Disney+ show they wanted to make but it worked just fine.
Needless to say that the kids loved it.

Enjoyable, but not a patch on the original, maybe because it was adapted from the aborted TV series, and thus also setting up the eventually third film. Barely see the villain, the bat lady was underused (presuming we will see them a lot more in film 3), and the songs weren’t quite as good. Bit of a crush on Loto, but might also be she’s channelling Gadget (from Rescue Rangers) vibes in her gabbled speech and invetorising.

The bat lady was the part of the film where it was most apparent that they were re-using the TV scripts because you barely got to know her as a villain before the (zero impact) reveal that she was actually one of the good guys.
Kids had been singing the Chee Hoo song a lot which I thought was great as well.

Someone is suing Disney for $10 billion and is claiming that the Moana films are similar to a script he wrote.
