It's a nice send-off to the whole pre-MCU Fox-era Marvel movies. Funnily enough, the old Fantastic Four Movies, Daredevil/Elektra, Blade, etc. never actually had any continuity with all the X-men films, yet this movie made it seem like they were all in a shared universe. Kind of funny to think about if they all were.
In a way it makes the whole beginning of the Marvel world date back now to 1998 when Blade 1 came out. If you wanted to do a full series watch from the start, now Blade 1 is the beginning and not either Iron Man (2008 ) or even Spider-man (2002) or even X-men 1 (2000). Goddamn, they just sort made all the pre-MCU movies "matter" now. |

I admit, after Deadpool 3 I have a hankering to do a marathon of all of those movies. Not the X-Men movies (I've seen those enough), but Fantastic Four, Blade, Daredevil and Elektra, etc..

Watched it again. New thoughts.
* I really hope they don't take this as a "we need to not cast a new Wolverine for 20-30 years" because Jackman was so awesome. Because they do. They obviously do. Jackman can pop up as the multiversal Fox-Verse Wolverine when they want, but they absolutely need to be thinking about their new Wolverine now. I hope this doesn't set the clock back. * As others have said. Waittaminute. If Drunk Wolverine is in Deadpool's timeline... Logan hasn't happened yet. How is this supposed to make sense? * I think them compartmentalizing this into the alternate dimension makes the X-Men rollout fine and good. I just worry this movie makes them soft-punch plans that should have already been in places years ago, since the Fox acquisition.
