I saw the vintage action figures in the toy aisle at a Wal-mart or something and I was mesmerized by how amazing they looked. The individual box artwork did a lot to sell the look of the line to me, especially the Turtle Van box. Somehow I convinced my parents to get me the Raphael toy because I thought he had the best color scheme and the most fearsome expression. I guess it all snowballed from there.

The year was 1988. A small boy at the age of 3 turned on the TV and saw a bunch of talking Turtles. The boy asked his mother, "Who are these green guys?" and the mother replied, "Those are Turtles, honey, there's this new cartoon out."
A week (or months, who can keep track of time as a 3 year old?) the small boy gets his first TMNT action figure, the original Raphael figure from Playmates. From that point on the boy watched the TMNT cartoon religiously, got into the toys and videogames on NES, watched the live-action movies in theaters, and got into the Archie comics. He never quit watching the cartoon, watching it all the way to 1996 and seeing all the final seasons in its original run. The small boy was known as CyberCubed. And thus I was created. |

I was 9 when the Fred Wolf cartoon debuted. I remember watching it on and off, then as I got more interested I watched it every week. That led to my interest in the toys.
The rest, as they say, is history.

It's fascinated with those who got interested when season 1 already aired.

Convinced my Mom to buy me Raphael toy, when I was 7. It was before TMNT was broadcasted on our TV, so I didn't not who this green freak, with spinning head was, but I liked his appearance.
Later, I met two guys with little books - one was based on the first movie and second on the TMNT Adventures story about wrestling tournament on the asteroid (the one where Ace Duck makes appearance). That's how I learned about their true names. And some time later TV started broadcasting first TV series, finalizing my introduction to the TMNT. |

My first TMNT comic was the Archie one when they were in Brazil with April and met Dreadmon and Jagwar.

Yes, it's him most likely. My friend had Donatello with spinning head. I was so sad, when I lost Raph... Is it an official toy? I was searching through TMNT toys catalogs and couldn't find them or didn't noticed this series. Russia. |

They're the "Toon Turtles", official toys. Raph's head spins, Donnie's bandana spins, Leo's eyes pop out, & Mikey has a retractable tongue. Though that version Mew posted is a variant that lacks the action feature & has a different coat of paint, it came with the "Toon Cycle".
& the original wave:

I always wanted that Toon Shredder over the original '87 Shredder as a kid mainly because he looks like the show. He actually wears a shirt and has a silver helmet/mask!
What was Playmates thinking making their original Shredder toy with no shirt and a bare chest? |
