Why not? It seems like that would be an ever-growing portion of their sales as people move away from physical media

I'd imagine it's cuz the physical copies sold are counted by how many copies are ordered by shops from distributors, but you can't really measure digital sales the same way. So while it is a large chunk of sales, it's much harder to report the same way as physical copies

If anything you'd think digital sales would be super easy to quantify and report. I have no idea why they keep that secret.

Yeah I didn't include the IDW/Batman kids thing. It's cool, I haven't read it yet, but I'm sure DC takes home a 60% to 70% of the lion's share in that anyways. Still great for IDW/TMNT though.
Yeah that is interesting about the digital sales. I don't think there's a great slant towards people buying digital. I'll never buy digital, no way in hell. I know people are going digital with comics but I don't think it is that heavy of a trend. I mean honestly... if you had to choose to buy a comic you like physically (the way it was meant to be) or digitally on your suckpad, what would you do? I don't think most people would be into the digital over physical because of "preference", just maybe out of "conveinence." ANyways, I would tack on 2-3k sales maybe for digital. Who knows what they are. I don't think the physical is slipping because more people are converting to digital though. Just as long as the ongoing stays 10k+ physical we're great to go. |

It's super easy to quantify and report, but the numbers are apples and oranges. The physical sales are taken at a specific date, really prior to the release. Conversely digital is really only available release date and after, and not everyone buys the books the day they come out. So it's not the same number and harder to delineate the numbers. Is it sales release week? Release month? Do you update the sales every time one sells from now till forever? Since there's not a finite pool of digital copies like there is with physical lumping them in with physical sales wouldn't be accurate.

I would like to know how many copies are sold 4 weeks after release. Would 5k digital copies sale? 10k?

I think that is would be really cool to have a separate digital sales chart. As much as I hate digital comics, it would be interesting to see what's going on.
I don't think any comic pushes more than 5k digital downloads? Anything more than that seems nuts. Like does Batman or whatever is #1 ... are they pushing 30k digital sales? I highly doubt it. |

I think the thing is digital comics remain up on their store to buy forever. Physical copies of comics are only printed in limited numbers and then they don't send any more off to the comic stores. So it's easier for them to keep track of how many physical copies are sold.
I mean people can right now buy digital IDW comics that came out way back in 2011-2012, should those be added to the overall sales of those individual issues even though they're 4 years old now? |

Yeah right, I agree. I'm cool with them not being included.
They need a running digital chart that is quarterly or something since its always going to get sales from different titles. |

Hey so I found these stats for Physical Comic Sales vs Digital.
So in 2014 for every 9.4 physical comic 1 digital comic was sold. So 9.4=1 ratio So TMNT sells 14k physical they roughly sold they sold 1,489 digital. so 15,489 overal source http://www.comichron.com/yearlycomicssales.html also the ratio is for North America only.

If you click on the link digital sales and physical copies have both risen every year except last year I believe.

So how did 68 do?
This is maybe a dumb question but I don't know how things work. Is the number sold based on how many the retailers and comic book stores buy, or based on the number customers buy from them? In terms of supporting the series, is it better to buy individual issues or TPBs? Just want to help keep it going to 100! They will need this many more issues at least to catch up with all the characters.

May's sales still aren't up yet, so we don't know how #69 did yet or the recent Universe issue.

Yeah, I hope numbers start going up for TMNTU but #10 is the second part to #9 so these two might be about the same is sales. #11 though, that would be great to see the new story arc give Universe a bump in sales. When is May going to be posted up?
