If Kevin Eastmen was the one who thought of sending the turtles to high school then I am convinced that he has ran out of good ideas and will only be crapping on his own franchise in the future. Just like with what Akira did with Dragonball Super.

Rented it last night on streaming. Both threads seem to have spoilers so I’ll just post here.
I thought it was pretty good. I liked the overall message of accepting others and how they got there. Humor was decent. Art style is cool but some of the “doodle” designs were too exaggerated. Some stuff was too smashed and bent out of shape but most was fine and looked unique. Spoiler:

He's a cheerleader for all things TMNT the last decade. He praises the worst ideas, and comes up with equally terrible ones. I love the guy and what he created, but just because his name is attached doesn't mean it's gonna be good.

Has the man ever openly disliked anything TMNT related?

He originally approved of it until he actually saw it. The movie was so bad that it made him want to start Dragonball Super. Akira and his team had a lot of bad ideas while creating Super like the over abundance of transformations and making Goku even dumber than he originally was, but none of his bad ideas come close to the abomination that is Dragonball Evolution. I am sure Akira enjoyed the money he got from it though.

Eastman was always the more malleable of the two when it came to creativity. Laird was the stickler on that front and it's really something that the two meshed together well enough to make such a huge IP. I guess that's what you call balance. It seems when they work together everyone's happy (or happier) with the end product, but when only one has the reins (or the executive equivalent), a couple horses get loose and there's an outcry.
I still haven't seen the new flick yet, so I'm not going to pass judgment on it, nor do I intend to just swallow Eastman's endorsement. Though I will say that I never expected this to be a blockbuster and would have been genuinely surprised if it did. So far, from what I've seen thus far (trailers, screenshots, plot synopses), the only thing I don't like is Donatello's voice. If this movie is supposed to focus on the "teenage" part of the title, then they could have had his proverbial balls drop at the very least. |

(first post, Hello
![]() watched this for the first time today, I thought the animation and fight scenes were nice but overall not my favorite turtles movie, It was pretty much what I expected from the trailers and leadup to the movie. Basically a kids tmnt film thats mostly action/comedy with lots of references to past 87s tmnt, not what my go-to tmnt would be and I'm a bit annoyed that this is supposedly going to be the next cartoon for awhile but whatcha gonna do. Spoiler:

![]() See, you would write a better script for the movie than Seth Rogen and his crew because you get what TMNT is all about, as does the rest of us here.

Oh, I know. That's why I said, "executive equivalent." He's more a consultant or executive producer (very loose version of the term); in the room, but not involved in the big decisions. A Stan Lee type.
