Korra has been above and beyond what I expected!

I was a huge fan of Airbender, so there were high hopes and I'm glad to say that I already love the new characters, and the occasional nods to the previous generation have been done quite well.

My only complaint... I hear they are only going to do only 26 episodes!

I don't think that's nearly enough considering there were 61 in Airbender and I still wanted more.

Well, that's one of the secrets to good storytelling. Always leave the audience wanting more. It'll hopefully give a show longevity long after it's gone.

I hope the events of the last episode means we never have to hear about pro-bending ever again.

Only 26 episodes????? who said that???Id figured they do at least 2 seasons.....

But I did see the latest episode
Spoiler:
Talk about a love triangle and awkward, I feel so sorry for Bolin....I have to say that this episode is the funniest yet and I enjoyed a little break from the main action, But I am curious the announcer said they had waited a year for the tournament does that mean a year has passed already???
cant wait for 2morrow ep

I'm really getting into this show. The first ep I watched, there were so many nods to the original avatar series that I didn't know about, so I decided to watch that first to know the entire back story. Holy cow... I knew Avatar had some good stuff from the short clips I'd seen, but to finally sit down and watch the entire show - I got hooked fast. I loved the characters, the storylines were really good, and I liked the animation.

Now I've gone back to the new show and rewatched -what a difference... I love this battle with Ammon(sp?), and the animation is really beautiful to look at. I'm very excited to see what develops...

Spoiler:
Poor Asami.

Her betraying her father was clearly not an easy decision for her to make. But this act has just made her more of a interesting character outside 'being Mako's girlfriend.'

I think the relationship stuff going on in Korra feels a bit forced right now. The immediate connection between Korra and Mako came up way too fast, although the entire thing did lead to one of the more entertaining scenes in the series so far, which was Bolin's breakdown.

I think part of the problem is I'm comparing the character interactions to the relationships born in Last Airbender, which had so much time to build and flesh out over the course of several seasons that they felt like they were growing very organically. Korra is way more busy and has a lot more characters to get through in the course of an episode. I hope they start taking some time to focus more on those aspects, but with such small episode runs, it seems like they're going to go full steam into the big moments from here on out.
