Since none from that period really still exists currently. (Unless there is an archive somewhere for old written fan-fics from the 70's or 80's, before internet made it widely available to find.) Especially given the attitudes toward those kinds of pairings back then- IE, homophobia/bashing and/or mostly closet gays. Would anyone back then have even used that term? Seems more like a recent invention, along with shipping itself. (Also, slash is generally- though not always- seen as more of an anime/manga thing. Just an observation.)
TOS have a lot of subtext, and "Slash" derives from Kirk/Spock, which was later K/S and then just Slash. The slash name for male/male pairing comes from Star Trek. ( Mary Sue also comes from Trek fandom)

One of the first slashfics was The Ring of Soshern, which was circulated in friend circles before fan magazines came, was written around 1968 ( maybe even late 67)

The fan magazine stuff interests me to no end. Are there scans of this kind of stuff?

Okay, I kinda want this to became a website, taking submissions of scanned (or retyped) old 70s & 80s stuff people still have tucked away. That would actually be kind of fun to read, given some of the lingo and whatnot as well as seeing the overall writing style of the times.

Everyone has written a story or two involving their favourite fiction characters when they were kids. But most had no idea that they were writing fanfiction all along.

That being said, I doubt CyberCubed has ever gotten into fanfiction. He seems to dislike the whole shipping culture in general.

*cough* But then there's the poll... Curiouser and curiouser.

I see the gentlemen are winning though, granted if not by a wide margin and small sample size of voters. Hmm.

Eh, I've written fics before and am in the middle of one which I haven't updated in months. None of my fics to this day have been shipping fics, though. They say you should write about what you know and I'm not an expert on romance, so I'll let that for the romantics

Considering he's a big Pokémon fan, I'm not surprised he might have written a short Pokémon story or two when he was younger. Just like I wouldn't be surprised if he had posted a TMNT one on this website ages ago.

Oh yes, he has. It was a steamy Pokemon ship-fic of Ash and the girl who replaced Misty. (Forgot her name....)

Yup. I've read it.
Girl who replaced Misty? I'm guessing May or Dawn?

And "steamy"? Like what, a porno? Seriously? When did he write that?

Two words. Shower masterbation..... Dawn, maybe? I never kept up with Pokemon after Joto League. There was a link to the fic on here somewhere at one time, but I don't happen to remember where. I mostly read it just to see how "good" it was.... It was- interesting.

Yea, but at the same time, I fear that it might be one of those "cannot unsee" things, you know?

Is THAT why you made that your rank title?! OMG that's funny! I'd forgotten the title, but now that you mention it, that does sound familiar....
