So she likes seeing Hong Kong people being oppressed by their police? What a shining role model she turns out to be

How many people from Disney dicksuckers will remember her opinion about Hong Kong?

Here is the new trailer. There are still a ton references to the original film, but this movie still stands out with its new characters and elements.

Despite all the controversy that has happened in the last year, it is still the '4th Most Anticipated Movie of 2020' according to Fandango users and the 'Most Anticipated Family Movie of 2020'.

It is obvious that very few people care about "controversial" stuff, outside of Internet circle jerk.

The film's director Nikki Caro had to say about the lack of singing in the film.

She also says that actor Jason Scott Lee almost turned the role he ultimately played in the movie because of his physical shape, but he got a great trainer.

Well, this is going to be interesting. I wonder if it'll have any ounce of soul or be another soulless cash grab like Aladdin and Lion King remakes were.

Nikki Caro, the film's director, explains why Mushu won't be in the film.

You know, the animated classic stands on its own in that regard. In this movie, there is a creature representative – a spiritual representation of the ancestors, and most particularly of Mulan's relationship with her father.

But an update of Mushu? No.

Also, new character posters have been released.

All I’m thinking about is Corona virus outbreak in China at the moment.

This will be the first Disney remake to be rated PG-13.

A producer also gave additional information about why Mushu and the songs won’t be in this film.

This article talks about how the stakes for this remake couldn’t be higher, especially with the Corona Virus spreading all over China.

Have any of you guys ever seen or heard of the Jet Li movie "Hero"? This remake of Mulan reminded me of how beautifully filmed Hero was. It's an honest to God wire-fu masterpiece that came after Crouching Tiger and basically perfected the formula but was also filmed perfectly with captivating environments and amazing color.

Seriously, if Mulan interests you at all, or you like kung-fu flicks with sensibility check out Hero. It's a period piece so it hasn't really aged at all. It could've been filmed yesterday for the most part. Donnie Yen is in that one as well.

I'd not heard of that but I think I might go and look for it.

Please do, it's a masterpiece. I haven't had cause to discuss it in years. If you check it out then start a thread! It will give me a reason to re-watch it too. I've bought every iteration of it's release - still waiting on 4k with HDR. The color pallet in that flick - wow.

It was easy to find, both Prime and another TV service I use, not sure if to rent or buy as it's not expensive, I'll def watch it either later on or tomorrow anyway.
