I don't think we're quite to the point of 2012 kids having disposable incomes and post-adulthood-nostalgia returning to them for these to sell to anybody right now. Unlike the 2k3 series. Meanwhile, however, I do see that my local hobby shops are now selling in-package 2012 TMNT figures for $30 and up each, so at least some appreciation has happened on the "rarer" figures already, but these sculpts were anything but rare.

Ok, but are you suggesting these 2012 rereleases will be stocked anywhere close to what they were originally?

For a more recent comparison…Most places carried 1- 2 sets at most at any given time last year for the 2k3 turtles, which is 12 figures and under on the shelves. Did anyone see 2k3 rereleases clogging anywhere (outside of maybe Macy’s in the Fall)?

The point is these figures have evergreen and price appeal. $10 figure with a bunch of accessories. Something Playmates has maintained mostly, that while common 12ish years ago is now a rarity. I merely suggest these will do well for casual purchases. Kids under 10 (except maybe a rare few), have no memory of this toyline or best bet, had some figures and vehicles from older sibling.

Feels like yesterday I was searching stores for this line’s original run.
Crazy fast times.

No, just that they'll be stocked higher than demand and the reissue pegs are already moving slowly. It may not be the case where you are, but where I am at, I could go out right now into the nearest metro and come back in a few hours with several complete sets of 2K3 reissues; they're just hanging there, nobody cares much. I also don't really believe that the reissues are being bought for kids in significant numbers. Online you will find many anecdotes of people like us buying them for our kids, but I suspect that's a limited phenomenon. I also wish the movie star turtles were not clogging everywhere still too, but they are (along with an overabundance of OG Genghis).

Playmates needs to get better reissues out. The Movie Star turtles aren’t moving and some TMNT fans are grabbing the 30th Anniversary Street Sharks figures instead. Playmates could re-issue the Storage Shell turtles with black belts.

When is the Metalhead wave coming?

Has there been any word on a re-release of General Tragg? That's a figure I'd snap up in a heartbeat.

Not yet.

Here is a better look at the 2k12 TMNT reissues: https://toynewsi.com/216-56221

2023 seems to have been the best year for recent reissues.

Playmates needs to listen to the fans and put out Scratch, Hot Spot, Hot Head, Sandstorm, Robotic Bebop, Robotic Rocksteady, small Krang’s Android Body like they did the “Giant-Size” turtles, Leatherhead, and etc. etc..

YES! Fully agreed. Antrax as well, please! I thought these were coming?

And the giant turtles were cool, but they should have been exact replicas of the originals.

Found some of the 2012 Turtles today, picked up Leonardo, definitely some different paint apps when comparing to the original, mainly on the mask.

Don't forget all the variants:

- Launch wave (no pupil, no monogrammed belt, textured feet)
- No pupil, monogrammed belt, textured feet
- Pupil, no monogrammed belt, smooth "toon" feet
- Pupil, no monogrammed belt, textured feet
- Tales of the TMNT repaint+reissue (colored belts)

Those are the ones I know of and collected; there may have been others.

These reissues look to have larger eye whites.

If Playmates doesn’t re-release Anthrax, they should include him in the Remastered line. There is so much they need to be doing. This is ridiculous.

So stoked to find movie Splinter. Neat to have an alternate version of the OG Splinter figure.

Now that Playmates has re-released every Movie Star character, what’s next? They should try the Shogun Turtles.

Just been in The Entertainer in Ilford, UK, and as well as the Storage Shell figures, they had the classic figures of Genghis Frog, Baxter Stockman, Bebop and Rocksteady, which I hadn't seen for ages - they also had the Hot Wheels Pop Culture Party Wagon, which I'd only ever seen once before in The Entertainer at Brent Cross.

One of the Toys R Us at Macy’s, that I visited, still has Shredder, Storage Shell Raph, and Storage Shell Mike. Oddly enough, they never got the Sewer Sports All Stars or Movie Star turtles. I think I saw a Movie Star Foot Soldier, but it has been a while ago. I know Toys R Us at Macy’s has the Mutagen Man wave (in case anyone is looking for it).

The 2k12 turtles, Shredder, and Metalhead are listed on Target.com, but they haven’t gone live yet: https://toynewsi.com/216-56289

Well, the Slap Shot Leo, Sewer Surfer Mike, Rahzar, Super Shredder, Movie Star Splinter, and Tokka case came and went. I never saw any of them. It’s on to the 2k12 turtles. That was fast!
