Besides the height, I don't see why he's a bad choice.

I have no faith in Punk being a good actor. At best he might be a Batista where he's enjoyable in smaller roles.
But I guess he got a job as a UFC fighter with no experience whatsoever so hey!

If we want CM based on his look, then cast Justin Theroux since he's pretty much his twin but a terrific actor (and Paul's taller than Fox, which is the only case it'd truly matter in).

Well, I know they'd probably go younger, but my pick is Christian Kane, who played Eliot on Leverage. Good actor, looks the part, and his character of Eliot was pretty similar to Casey already.

Doesn't necessarily have to have the accent, buuut- he did do quite a few different accents in his role on Leverage- heck, they ALL did. He played it "nerdy" a couple of times, an over-the-top Southern drawl, and a German one, among others.

I've only seen that show a few times one morning after partying at a friends house. I only remember the southern accent.

Knowing Platinum Dunes I guess they would cast an athlete or wrestler for "authenticity".

It's gotta be Shia Labeouf.
Or: Orlando Bloom. Johnny Depp. Zac Efron. Andrew Garfield. |

NO! Just no! Orlando Bloom?! You serious!? I think it would be cool to go younger to fit in better with the turtles. But also someone a bit rough round the edges, a bit gritty you know? Can't think of anyone though to be honest

Uh... Punk IS an actor, just not in movies. C'mon dude, kayfabe is dead.
His ability to actually deliver lines and make you believe them, and feel emotion when he says something powerful, and the fact that every time he says/does anything at all, people go into a frenzy for MONTHS over whether it was "a work" or "a shoot", and the fact he's gotten fans who know perfectly well it's scripted to nearly assault him with physical violence, actually means, he's already a much BETTER actor than most. Not just most wrestlers, I mean most actors. He'd be fine as a "real" actor if that's what he wanted to do, I just don't think he's entirely right for this. I mean, yeah, he could be. I'd be down. I just don't think it's actually a realistic choice. But hey, why not?

If we're talking about wrestlers, I'd agree with Seth Rollins or maybe Dean Ambrose 'cause that guy plays crazy well if you wanted to go for a crazy Casey Jones.

It's about delivery and charisma. Punk excels at both. Acting is Acting. Anybody can read lines. Not everyone can make you care. Just because wrestling is more Improv than anything else doesn't mean it's an entirely different thing. It's Still Acting. You still need to make people believe what you're saying when they know it's 100% bullsh*t.
Nice attempt. Shane's not a great actor. He has good delivery in that "worked-shoot" type of environment, but when it's scripted and forced, you can tell, and that's part of why he couldn't get over outside of ECW. He's one of my favorites, but no, when it's "fake" with him you can completely tell. He's a great worker and a great promo in specific places and I love him forever but no, Not A Good Actor.

Never heard of him.
Unless that's a typo and you meant "Elias Koteas"... ...Yeah I don't see it. Anybody else notice how Elias is slowly morphing into Dick Miller? It's downright eerie.

Also, a few weeks after leaving WWE he did a wrestling podcast with some guys at Nerdist, they avoided asking why he left, but brought up that he'd be the perfect Casey Jones, he said he's heard that a lot and agrees. I personally tweeted at him years ago that he would be a great Casey Jones, and I am not alone in that thinking. He has the look, loves TMNT, has the dry humor, and can pull off looking like he can kick some ass. Unfortunately he signed a multi fight deal with UFC 2 weeks ago, I doubt he'll have time to film a movie, unless it was maybe a small role or a stinger at the end of the sequel to set up the 3rd movie. I can't think of anyone else good enough to play the role, but if we're talking wrestlers, someone else mentioned Seth Rollins, he definitely has the look. Dean Ambrose fits the bill as well. Maybe Jai Courtney, Garrett Hedlund, Nicholas Hoult, Jeremy Allen White, Taylor Kitsch, Norman Reedus...I could see the studio wanting guys like Miles Teller, or Zac Efron, Liam Hemsworth etc...

Zac Efron has kind of won me over. He's actually a pretty decent actor, but I don't see him as Casey.
I've said it before, Garfield's Spiderman (especially in ASM1 during the 'car jacker' scene) TOTALLY reminded me of Casey Jones). And I hear he will have some free time now...
