Favorite Comic Era

There have been many eras of comics Golden, Silver, Bronze, Copper, Modern etc. and quite a few comic companies most notably DC and Marvel. Is there an era that interest you more than any other and what about it makes it the era that interest you the most?

I enjoy the 1970s and early 1980s the most, particularly DC of that period. I suppose it would be labeled Bronze Age. I may have been born after it but I am drawn to the character set, tone, and creators of this period more than any other. No other era has such iconic set of characters that I enjoy. Its not too dark and epic yet not terribly cheesy. I could easily pick up a comic from most anything in DC's output during that period. Its something I cannot say I could do today as I am not into the character set as I am the one of DC's Bronze Age.

So what era of comics do you like the best and why?

I like the '60s Marvel superhero era even though I wasn't even born yet. Early Spider-man, Fantastic Four and Silver Surfer are the best.

Mid 60s through to early 90s, at least on the Marvel end of things.

With DC? Late 80s through to 2008, and I'm currently enjoying the Rebirth period from 2016 to present

I was a kid in the 90s so 90s comics are still my fav. era. The Xtreeme attitude they had is just awesome to me. It took the serious stories that worked before and turned them up to 11, yeah they're gimmicky but I find those gimmicks fun. The re-designs? They're mostly all up my alley, more spikes? Hell yeah !

I personally go for the era of Marvel from "Disassembled" up to about 2007. Early FF, Spidey, and Avengers, in the 60's are fun, but later eras interest me more.

I like comics around 2000-2003.

That being said, all the 90s stuff will always be close to my heart. It was so wonderfully over the top and needlessly gritty all the time it really carved it's own identity. Definitely not for everyone but hey, what is?
