I would have thought the opening post would have had more substance... at least a copy & paste of a summary. At this point, I had to go to the site to jog my memory of the plot.

So that means I'll be getting mine next week, as my comic shop of choice seems to be a week behind everyone else.

We got it here in Australia, along with the Don book.

I thought maybe it had been delayed because of the incoming buyout. Thank God that doesn't seem to be the case.

Still haven't seen the first Don issue up here. And as I've said before, we never got ANY of Mikey.

Small update, y'all: Midtown Comics lists Tales #63 as coming out THIS coming week ( Wednesday, October 28 ), rather than last.

Which would perhaps explain why it was nowhere to be seen, around here, last week.

I'm looking forward to it. Especially now.

It was certainly in my box, Donatello #2 as well.

A lot of fun this issue. It really seems like Berger and Brown tried to channel Tristan in this (this being a direct sequel to Tristan's #50) in a lot of the storytelling and dialogue here.

I'm curious to hear Tristan's thoughts on this issue. He's gotten to follow-up-on and plug holes here and there in between others' stories... now, for the first time, others at Mirage are doing that to his stories.

I think it's a lot of fun, again. And it looks like it's finally the real end of Marlin... unless some other issue has him like cutting his way out of that dinosaur's gut.

I got it today (I think it's the first time they've actually gotten a TMNT issue the same week). Still no Don yet.

I thought the total shift from Harmon's work in 50 to Lawson's in 63 was totally jarring. The bunyips no longer look badass, I didn't even recongize Marlin when flipping through it, and the side of Leatherhead's head looks weird. The "Boss Monster" (does it even have a proper name?) looks flippin' awesome though, just as much in Lawson's art as the back cover.

The story was pretty cool, although Marlin's escape from death from last issue was kind of lame. It fit his character, but it didn't make it any less eye-rolling.

Hope the bastard's finally dead, now.

Well, yes... but what can you do? I don't think anyone was expecting Lawson to try and emulate Harmon's style.

I actually don't think that I knew/realized/remembered Lawson was doing the art.

Oh goody.... Leatherhead's got healing factor now. Just what every comic series needs. A hot headed mutant with healing factor.

I thought it was a pretty interesting issue. Loved the appearance of the frogman. My first and only thought upon seeing it was "awww...the Punk Frogs now live on an island off the coast of Australia...."

How awesome was it? The story was kinda meh for me the last issue I read with the Leatherhead/hunter stuff. It was also too damn dark to tell what was going on.
