Man, if IDW greenlits it then Murphy seriously better get his ass in gear and finish the thing.
There is no doubt in my mind that if Murphy had his heart in it, "The Forever war" would have made it out back in 2009 during the 25th anniversary. |

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an IDW official finish. Time to get on their forums or fan email and start plugging this.

If this goes down, I'm buyin' a cake & some party hats. You'll all be invited over (well, not all of you).

The Forever War may have a similar fate as Duke Nukem Forever.

You mean that its underwhelming and feels like something that would have been cool if it had come out 10 years ago?

Heh, I would absolutely LOVE to see "Forever War" published officially by a company like IDW, but if that doesn't work out, I wish you guys good luck with the original plan! I am behind y'all 1000%, either way!

To be honest I stopped caring a while ago. There is no possible way this story can ever live up to expectations after over 15 years.
I've already accepted "Year of the Turtle" as Archie's conclusion since 1996. I already have my "final" Shredder story. The ONLY aspect I'd love to see wrapped up is Null, as he was really the only loose end in Archie continuity that never got any proper closure. All the other villains were either dead or lost in limbo (like Armaggon). |

I care to an extent, obviously if it were to get made I'd excitedly buy it. But basically, I'm on the same page as Cybercubed.

I remember communicating with chris allan back around 2003 or so, just idle chit chat. During that time i also let him know how much the fans here hoped for that story. Then flash forward a few years and the good, bad, and ugly details of the story that never was found its way on Murphy's blog. Then there was the ramping of another attempt, complete with Tmnta trade paperback, and we all know how that went. Up and down, up and down. And yet.....YES, i still hope for the day!!!! If for no other reason than to just see the darn thing in print, in any format, to revisit the version of the characters i grew up with. Here's hoping!
Or at the least, some TMNTA tpb's, please? |

You know an interesting thought occured to me. It's possible the reason The Forever War is taking so long is that Mr. Allen and all some of the other people behind it didn't really like the idea of it being published in black and white (I know I didn't). Now that Nickelodeon and IDW are involved, maybe the story will get a chance at being released in full color!

It was just a theory I had. I could be totally wrong about it.

There's no reason to come up with theories... we have the facts, from the horse's mouth(s). Steve does lament, though, that had he known the sale was coming up he would have busted ass (and subsequently made sure Chris was busting ass) to get it done on time and into people's hands.

Okay, but how do you know you have all the facts? I'm sure Mirage has kept people in the dark on stuff. Hell, I'll bet there's even stuff Ivey doesn't know!

Andrew might be one of the best hopes we have of seeing this story in any format if IDW doesn't pick it up. He's got pretty good connections with a lot of the former Mirage guys. He was highly important to the conclusion of the Image volume that was recently finished, and if he's able to do anything with Forever War I'll support it.

This is one of the few TMNT related things I'd buy these days.
But I'm not going to hold my breath on it. |

What does anyone expect out if it anyway? This wasn't intended to conclude the Archie universe, and Null isn't even in it.
Its almost as if people are hyped up to think this was some sort of, "climatic ending" to the Archie series when in reality it really wasn't. |
