What exactly happened between Peter laird /mirage and Fred wolf during the 80s
It’s been said Kevin and Peter demanded complete creative control over their characters when the play mates deal originally took place with Mark Friedman, but somehow it ended up, being that the cartoon and by extension the broader media brand ended up in a dissident direction of their own isolated mythology outside of using the first couple of issues during season one, while peter laird then Barred, said mythology from use once he gained full rights in the 2000s doing the 2K3 TV show and volume 4 with it all going the inverse once he sold it. so I really just wanna know what exactly went down

I tried used voice to text on my phone to type it my hands were too tired, but said from that does anyone really know what has David wise said about it, and I heard mirage sent a packet of characters and lore to playmates but I can’t find it anywhere

Trying to get... Anything out of this, it vaguely sounds like you are talking about FW's attempted lawsuit and/or the weird crap David Wise has claimed.
We don't know the full extent of what happened. What we do know is that Laird and Eastman were largely shut out of the creative process and that at some point FW tried to wrestle control of the franchise away from Mirage studios. David Wise did claim he essentially created most of what we see in season 1 (which is a lie by the way, a complete fabrication not worth taking seriously), presumably FW used similar claims when attempting to take control. We just don't know much for certain. |
