Man, I'd love to have some copies of the TMNT movie prequel comics in color!
You Brits are so lucky with your exclusive content. Also, here is the cover to the Fall 1990 issue of the US TMNT Magazine (Issue #2): http://www.flickr.com/photos/22047800@N07/4386213693/

That Mikey head with the googly eyes is weird.
I have all the US magazines, if people are interested I could post the covers here. I'm still looking for those magazines that coincided with the 2K3 toon: I only have #1 and #13.

Fall 1990, Winter 1991, Fall 1991, Summer 1992, Spring 1993 (3rd Movie "Collector's Edition" with lenticular back & cover), and Summer 1993. If you could fill in the gaps, I'd appreciate it!

I believe the magazine called him "Guerrilla Gorilla." I'm not sure if they are the same character or not.
And by popular request... TMNT Magazine: Winter 1991 (Issue #3) http://www.flickr.com/photos/22047800@N07/4387723477/ In this issue, the TMNT must save Master Splinter from becoming a dish of ratatouille for the fowl bird, Nocturno! I wonder if he is inspired by Ryan Brown's "Owl" character from "The Uncanny Trio"? [EDIT: I guess so.]

Does anyone know who did the covers? Looks like Michael Dooney to me but not too sure.

Were these magazines part of the Archie series or just adventures for generic (any) Turtles but likely the cartoon ones?

For the most part, the Turtles stories within these magazines appear to be a unique universe. They are often alternative takes on Archie TMNT Adventures stories since Steve Murphy and Ryan Brown usually wrote plots and scripts and Jim Lawson did the pencils for the comics.

How much money do these generally go for now? If I wanted to buy some online, are these rare?

Yeah, I remember it offered a different -- but similar -- take on how the Dragon became the Dragon.
