So far, I'm ... not really enjoying myself.

I'm afraid of getting any older. What should I do?

You realise most members are older than you right?
As far as enjoyment, that's more how your life is rather than the age you are at.

I get having a thing about your age and not wanting to get older, been that way too, but it's gonna happen. I can only say, try to make the most of being in your 20s in that case.

Life ain't a movie. Nothing magically turns around when you reach a certain age. Your happiness is not based on the number of years you've lived.

Our generation is more likely to start setting into success when we hit our 30's.

Get used to it, esp if you're already fearing aging. I didn't really get like that until 30s. And at least you've still got a long time until you're 39 like me and looking down the barrel of a decade you, well I, really really really don't want to step foot into yet.

Okay, so being 29 felt similar, but I got over being 30 pretty quick. The 30s don't actually feel old imo. I'm just not so sure the next one will be that way and how it might be on the other side of it.

Nothing can be done but accept the inevitable and focus on how you feel more than what a number says. I plan on feel young still for as long as I'm able.

Well, there's ONE sure way to make sure you never age another year.

Befriend Peter Pan, of course, what, did you think I was going to say something else?

I’m nearing 30 years old and what I’ve found is that I’m only happy when I get the ball rolling myself. I can sink into depression and the only way to get out is to plant positive seeds in my head. Even if you have to “fake it till you make it”. Feeding yourself positive thoughts. Fabricating some sort of confidence or optimism. That’s how it works for me anyways. The more I do it, the easier/more natural it feels. I can also find myself doing the opposite and going in reverse. You have to pull yourself out.

That’s my two cents.

Alternative answer: 20 is young as hell. You’ve still got a lot of potential time left. Have fun but take care of yourself. I aged a lot in the last decade from drinking, Sun damage to skin, prob some hair loss from stress and anxiety, too many sweets/not enough flossing. I’m still in pretty good shape, but would have been better off if I’d given myself some more tender love & care.

You poor thing... What's it like being not quite half my age.

But happy early birthday and grats on the full adulthood.

Ok so...you need to not be scared about your age. Life doesn't spontaneously change because one digit has gone up. Ok, at 21 there are some things that go differently, but you don't change. You don't magically change your role in society just because you turned 20 or 21. Life goes on as usual. It's going to be ok.

The only difference is that you can buy alcohol if you want to. And even then...you don't have to.

Don't be scared, at least you're a guy and the older you get your dating pool increases, me I'm a woman and once you're in your 20s the dating pool starts shrinking dramatically and things become more difficult with each passing year, it's really tough for us. This song hits a little too close to home:

Dang, I'm tiwce your age! Just today, in fact. Got 21 years experience on you, trust me, 21 is a party compared to 42. Spending my birthday sitting on the couch with Mr. D and doing some laundry. Yeah, real exciting, I know. But that's pretty much how birthdays are after a certain point. Be glad you still have "miles to go" before you reach this stage. (I love Frost, his poems always ring very personally for me.)

We need an 84 year old to show up and give us some perspective.

And happy birthday, Duckie.

Thanks! It's been mostly quiet and dull, dispite a scare early this morning when Mr. D's blood sugar plummeted to 32.

Enjoy it because you'll be as old as I am(28 years old) without even noticing it. I very well remember being 20-21 as if it was yesterday.

Is it adulthood that you guys are scared of? Despite what Trix commercials tell you, you can still eat them as adults. I just finished my 30s and still enjoy TMNT, comics, etc, just with a little more responsibility and less free time mixed in. You guys still have a long way to go, no worries.

Pretty sure he's trolling, I've known sdp since like 2003 and I'd be shocked if he wasn't male.
