I'm reading through some of my original Image issues I found and it's funny to see some names I recognize in the letters section. In just this one there's Rosemary Reeve, Michele Ivey, and "Andy" Modeen. Even at the age of 15 he was "damning" the cartoon.

It’s pulpy but surprisingly good. And the art is fantastic. The new covers rock. The crossovers that show up later are lame but everything else is great. I like it almost as much as the IDW series, more in some ways as it’s willing to go darker.

Once they finish this, could they look into tying up Obligado and Gang Wars? It doesn’t seem like Laird will ever finish them.

I'm waiting for the collected trades myself.

That's already being tied up in "Origin." It gets one final 6 page story, right at the beginning, and completes the loop. Murphy gave it the thumbs up.

I'd imagine that'd be connected to how well Tales of the TMNT Vol. 2 TPB sales end up, as well as Tristan's interest. I imagine he'd jump at it, the talks we've had. If it happened, though, I wish it would come out at Mirage under Laird's 18 comics a year deal... though that's probably not realistic.

April’s sisters in the Kirby dimension? The Foot Clan massacre by that Aztec dude? April as Nobody? Those cat folk? On-topic, I think i’ll pick up at least one to get a taste of Image. |

Finally caught up on issue 5 colored. Man, this series is far more enjoyable in color for some reason, I'm not sure what it is.
I really enjoyed this opener. Pimiko is Shredder's daughter (which would wind up being Karai in every future incarnation, but Pimiko started this), and we get a nice story arc about a Dragon Lord, a Monitor lizard mutant, and of course Don becoming a cyborg. I always thought Splinter becoming Man-bat was a bit ridiculous, but it was an easy way to keep Splinter out of the story for awhile and have the Turtles figure things out on their own. |

Alright, even though issue 6 is a bit dull, the part where Shadow tricked Mikey so she could play video games was amusing.

This was a nice aftermath and transition issue. We see Donnie still come to terms with being a cyborg and seeing what he can do, the computer CPU can still take over his body, and the reintroduction of Casey/April/Shadow. Interesting enough the way it's colored makes it look like Raph's injury isn't so bad, it seems like it's healing already.
Never understood why people were so turned off about Don being a cyborg, it was clearly a series long arc and they were going to have him back to normal by the conclusion anyway. I think it was a nice change. |

So how is it gonna go for this? It's only 6 issues in and it's already selling very poorly. I realise that this being a series of reprints might cushion the sales data a bit but still, if this is concluded it won't happen until a year and a half from now. What are the sales going to look like then?

They already announced the first trade that collects the first 13 issues for August 2019. So they're obviously going to continue putting out the single issues till then.

Issue 7 is out, the coloring is pretty good. Story wise I love how mysterious the Foot Council is here and the uneasy truce with the Turtles. Image really was Mirage Volume 3, I love how all the plot points from City at War and Volume 2 continue directly into this.
