It's not really that bad of a development and the story is told well, but try telling that to the change-fearing freaks..erm, I mean "fans".

It was a Volume 4 issue. Personally, I don't see what's so bad about it.

If nothing else, I learned an important lesson: do "Google Alert."

Laird is being rather a good sport about the matter, and does this mean a new Turtle-related meme with "Bob" is born? I sincerely hope so.

At the signing at Shellback Artworks this past weekend I took the time to call him Bob. He was in the middle of signing my book when I did it and he just stopped and looked at me then smiled and made a joke. Some of the other guys had a good laugh too. Definitely worth saying once.

Honestly between Peter and Dooney racing to see who could finish a Fugitoid Head Sketch first, the constant jibes at Jim Lawson about him drawing full turtle sketches and not just heads, Mike Dooney drawing a head sketch, signing it Lawson and offering it for the price of $1,000,000 before dropping it to the far more reasonable $673 while assuring those assembled that the value would be intact despite the almost 150,000% drop in price, and the constant power outages. There was too much going on for me to remember it exactly because it was how I started the day

Resurrecting this horrible old thread just to say that eight years later I finally got proper closure on the "Peter Laird going by Bob" question I asked and figured I would share. After years of this terribly stupid question being asked, a couple good jokes being made amongst fans, feeling embarassed, and even Peter commenting on his blog about it, I finally got my answer.

To those who weren't around, basically in 2012 my dad had told me he had lunch with the creator of TMNT and that his name was Bob. He described his as short and bald which made me assume out of Kevin and Peter he had to be talking about Peter. Long story short, it wasn't Peter and I was left feeling like an ass and completely embarassed.

Fast forward to a few hours ago, I swung by my dad's place for a very brief visit and as soon as I got out of my car he was very excited and had to tell me all about how he had recently received a Facebook friend request from his friend Bobby who helped create TMNT. My first insinct was 'oh boy, this will be interesting'. He pulled up Facebook and showed me the video that 'Bobby' had recently posted. The video I was shown was a short clip of Bobby Herbeck talking about the 30th Anniversary cou ntdown for the 1990 TMNT movie.

So after all these years of questioning what the heck my dad was talking about, I got closure that my dad didn't have lunch with Peter Laird, he had lunch his friend Bobby Herbeck. And while he didn't help create TMNT, he is responsible for the story and script for the original movie.

Good ending to the story and actually pretty cool! I think I missed this thread in 2012. Must feel good to solve an 8-year-old question.
