Interesting thought on the Halloween theme.

Maybe they're really just a couple of big dorks dressed up for it.

But they weren't on set for the Halloween shoot. They were here during the daytime filming this scene without any other Halloween costumed people around, as far as I know.

Because let's be honest - the fact is that reactions to this movie were decidedly mixed, at best. Just because you know a handful of people who liked it doesn't prove anything beyond... you knowing a handful of people who liked it. The majority of the fandom seems to be more negative-to-mixed about this series than anything.

53% of the Rotten Tomatoes audience liked it.
That's 53% of the people who bothered to post an opinion on RT, a grand total of 129,370 people. Roughly the population of Thousand Oak, California. Not a great sample size. And of that small sample, just over half liked it enough to give it a passing grade, apparently. Not a Glowing review, Just barely a pass.

Meta critic has a combined total of 230 positive reviews of 470.

And how many reviews have been skewed by rabbid fans, desperate to defend it?

I was pretty bummed too after Laird had promised us an amazing new movie and Viacom changed everything. But after fan outcry they did change the horrible plans for the 2014 movie and they ended up making a decent movie that is easily redeemable. Sure it isn't the Mirage film we wanted but it's taking it in a new fun direction. Yeah they're going for heavy OT influence but is that really a bad thing? It's something different and new and it's interesting to see where they take the franchise since it's something totally different than what we expect, they can go sci-fi heavy with these films. I'm totally expecting the technodrome in the third movie and crazy action, just fun movies. Say what you want but I prefer this over the more traditional 2007 snooze fest movie we got.
I agree why the negativity? I mean I get why Megan Fox gets flack in these movies and turtles designs were pretty rough but come on guys you can't tell me that this Bebop not a direct fan service to us old dogs from the 87 series.

I think he looks great and am so stoked to see the new Shredder and Karai.

After all Sheamus could have been cast as Bebop and we could have ended up with something more like this.....

Sheamus' pants is so far the best part of Bebop and Rocksteady.

And probably the second best thing after Brian Tee as far as we've seen so far.

At least he looks like Bebop while Rocksteady looks like...I don't know. Funny enough when I first saw Sheamus's new look I immediately thought Bebop opposed to the character he actually ended up playing.

Who or what said that? Misspelling of Will Ferrell? As Vern... That would be hard to wrap the mind around, think it would kill me.

Really, if that is from some kind of source, that's up there with articles I've seen claiming this second film is called Secret of the Ooze.

There are women on this very board who aren't fans of the movie. Pay attention.

Egad, that mohawk looks atrocious. If they just got rid of it, he'd look a 1000 times better.

Anyone notice that Bebop has a bunch of pig tusks on his necklace?

When I was a kid and saw the 1990 movie I wondered where Bebop, Rocksteady, and Krang were. Still liked the movie but didn't understand where all the characters were. I was about 5 years old and I didn't know about the comic at the time.

The recent pics of Rocksteady and Bebop remind me what I would have possibly wanted in the original movie, when I was 5. They look like cosplayers and pretty silly looking at that. Fitting for the end of the eighties, not now.

looks pretty cool to me. I wish Bebop had on a pair of shades to complete his look. And Sheamus looks fine enough from what I can see as a human Rocksteady.

Sheamus is definitely the better-looking of the two.

It's not SO far off from what it should be but their look in general, as others have said, is a little too cartoony, particularly Bebop. Bebop needs a lot of work. I mean to some degree I can accept both characters having poor fashion sense, but the mohawk and the pants on Bebop, especially, should be better.

It's just a little too literal for an adaptation that's only going halfway into any of the material it's "adapting".

Bebop looks like any other wrestler from WWE, I think they nailed it spot on.
