87 Mikey is the ultimate attention seeker. He's always doing things designed to get people to look at him. Performing magic shows despite not being able to do any magic, dancing Irish jigs for no reason, turning the conversational topic to pizza at any opportunity, talking with a California accent for no reason and oh yeah, when it's his birthday he tells everyone "let's throw a humungous party for someone we know." And whilst I don't think he was particularly stupid, Raphael certainly did.
But y'know, this kind of comment just underlines the problem with discussing different iterations of these characters - people ignore the stuff that doesn't fit with their argument and over-emphasise the stuff that does. Truth is, there's very little difference between 2k3 Mikey and 2k12 Mikey. The only real difference is that all the characters are more coherent and consistent in 2k3 and 2k12 because those cartoons weren't thrown together in the same way as the OT.
